Review: The Ship Has Sunk - Book #1 The Misadventures of Maggie Moore - December 2014

As someone who loves journalism and the art of writing, whenever I read about books that are to do with this topic, I get all excited to read it and sometimes they aren't that great but other times they turn out to be awesome reads and Book #1 in the Misadventures of Maggie Moore by Michelle Graves turned out to be one of those awesome reads. So awesome, that I immediately after finishing went to see if she had written any other books and to see when the next one of this series is out. Maggie Moore's father died and her Mother and her world's stopped turning, now three-six months later , Maggie's mother has decided that they have mourned enough and it is time to move on with their life and get out their living life in the "real world". With Maggie's background being journalism, she is desperate for whatever writing job she can take - the only one avaliable though is as a Sports Journalist writing about Football. Maggie fakes her way through the interview and get the job , only to be sent out to her first assignment - a football game and report on it. The article though is definitely not what they wanted and she bombs on the job, she ends up getting called into the office and she believes she is about to get fired. Turns out that they have a new position to trial for their online site as an obscure activities reporter and her first article is on "Dragon Boat Racing". Meanwhile the other thread of storyline is the mysterious handsome but arrogant jerk who keeps showing up only to discover he is the famous photographer John on whom she did a project on when she was in high school. Is this the beginning of a love/hate relationship between the pair and a start of a new career for Maggie ? Find out in Book #1 The Ship Has Sunk by Michelle Graves.
