The Secret Life of Charlotte Dodd

Review: The Secret Life of Charlotte Dodd - Holly Kerr - January 2016

Charlotte aka Charlie or Lottie seems to be accident prone as bad things seem to follow her around from a gas leak to nearly being killed. The latest incident happens as she walks out of the local movie theatre and finds a guy being beaten by her new red car. She steps in and soon finds herself on a car chase with guns a blazing , what has she gotten herself into ? The odd thing though that keeps niggling at the back of her mind is that he not only called her Charlie but flashbacks of certain things are running through her mind.  Turns out that Charlotte Dodd is a Spy working undercover and she decided it would be a wise thing to get her memories wiped clean. Now though, people are after her and with more agents getting killed and Charlotte's family in danger, they have recalled her back to the service but without her memories she recalls nothing of her so-called spy life especially the part where her fiance Luke is supposedly working for the bad guys ? Now Charlotte in order to save her loved ones - her brother Perry and stop the other agents from disappearing and being killed , she must re-enter the field with what little she can remember. What will happen though, when some of the ones she loves the most are now her enemies ? Which side will she choose ? The Secret Life of Charlotte Dodd was a fast-paced mystery novel that in parts reminded me of one of my all-time favourite movies The Long Kiss Goodnight starring Geena Davis and the new TV show Blindspot with Jaimie Alexander. If you love Amnesia stories, Adventure and spy books with a bit of a comedy side then check out The Secret Life of Charlotte Dodd by Holly Kerr.
