Review: Love and Friendship - Jane Austen

Are you a Jane Austen Fan ? Ever wondered what her writing style was like before Pride and Prejudice , Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park - just to name a few ?
Review: Love and Friendship - Jane Austen - 1790's.
Before Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility were even discovered or imagined , there sat a 14yr old girl named Jane Austen who had a headful of imagination and creativity . All her life she had dreamed as a young girl of becoming a writer and getting her word spread into the world and who knew that soon this little girl would go down in history as one of the greatest female authors and literature extraordinaire. We all know and understand, recognise some all of Jane Austen's 8 Fiction Novels but I doubt many of us realise that as a young teenage girl that she wrote three short stories and It wasn't till recently when I read "A Truth Universally Acknowledged" - 33 Authors on Why we read Jane Austen " Edited by Susannah Carson that I discovered that Jane Austen had written when she was a teen. The end result was a collection of three short stories and the anthology titled Love and Friendship. Now as you can see above in the covers, on the right hand side Friendship is spelt Freindship - this is because at the time of Jane Austen writing the novel in the late 1700's , the I before E except after C rule had not yet been created, so the word Friendship was at the time not spelt incorrectly nor correctly as it was a choice on which way many spelt it. As we all gather from reading and learning about Jane Austen and her life was that she was big on letter writing to her sister Cassandra and brother Edward. The first short story Love and Friendship is a tale comprised of numerous letter correspondence between Laura and her Friends Isabel and then Marianne as Laura corresponds her life's  story to Marianne. The Three sisters is another set of Letters and if you are a fan of Jane Austen's novels then you will enjoy three sisters as it tells the story of Fanny, Kitty, Georgiana , Sophie and Mary Stanhope. Last but not least is a collection of letters written to friends, family and most importantly the characters in young Jane's life.
Love and Friendship is the perfect read for all long-time and true devout fans of Jane Austen and all those who shall claim the title of Austenites.
