The Matchmaker's Playbook (Wingmen Inc., #1)

Review: The Matchmaker's Playbook - Book #1 Wingmen Inc. Series - Rachel Van Dyken - April 2016

After an amazing opportunity and a career with the NFL Ian had things going for him as he was on the fast track to being one of the best sportsmen in his field. He had money , fame and a neverending supply of women, life was great. That was until he injured and blew out his knee and his NFL days just like that were over. Having sort of skipped the actual college experience, Ian went back to College and along with best friend Lex - the pair of them as they had always had the best of luvk with women decided to put their skills to the test and start up a company called Wingmen Inc. Wingmen Inc helped those shy and awkward girls who were sick of being invisible to their crush, try and win his heart or at least get a date or two with their crush. Ian and Lex had one rule - Never Sleep with a Client and all was going great until their best gal pal Gabi decided to get two new roomates Serena and Blake. Blake ends up being one of the clients and along with Ian's help tries to win her crush David's heart. Of course you can guess what happens as the more time Blake and Ian spend together - their feelings for each other become closer and closer with the possibility of eventually closing the gap but what will Blake do ? Choose the one safe option and her long-time crush David or the Unpredictable player and manwhore Ian ? Is Blake ready to test her heart and have the preparation that it could get broken ? I have to admit at first the characters in the book weren't doing it for as I was used to reading her Consequences series which the characters are all hard-case . This has a more serious tone to the book and a more romantic aspect of matchmaking than romantic comedy. After finishing the book, I am interested in reading the next book as I would eventually like to see Lex and Gabbi together - though would be interesting as throughout this book all they want to do is try and kill one another.
