Hidden (The Scions #1)

Review: Hidden - Book #1 The Scions Series - Gemma Weir - September 2019

Nova and her family belong to the local Bike MC called The Scions. At school and in their smalltown, everyone knows not to mess with the kids of this club as if so there will be consequences and you will bring on the full wrath of the club as they protect their own. At School though Nova Stubbs is seen as the Ice Queen and the girl not to mess with. The truth is though that she is tired of pretending to be something that she is not as she isn't really the girl that the school views and that the other students see. In fact she is slowly crumbling inside and hearing voices that are sending her into panicked frenzies. When Valentine arrives at the club as a new foster kid, he decides to make it his mission to control Nova and prove to her that she can be something different than the Princess and the Ice Queen she plays at school. He also holds all the power and if she isn't careful he will ruin her family and friends. At first, Nova doesn't believe him but when her first wall starts to crumble and falls down hard, she plays right into his hand and soon a blackmailed manipulated relationship begins between the pair of them. However, part of Nova likes it as she can be herself around Valentine. However what will happen when Nova's fear and the one secret that can break her for good is revealed in front of the whole school and the finger is pointed to Valentine? Can Valentine find out who else knew her secret and released it? My bet is on Nova's ex-best friend. Hidden does end on a cliffhanger but at least Book #2 also is released in September so readers don't have to wait too long unlike me. Hidden was a bullymance story but does not contain RH.
