Review: Gone to Her Grave - Book #2 Rogue River Series - Melinda Leigh - October 2014 So this seems to be another series I have read backward as I had previously read Books #3 and #4 and now this is Book #2. The good thing about this series is that they can be read as a standalone and at the same time they do connect. As I had read the later books, some of the storyline in Book #2 I already knew the answers too and in other places, it was good to get some background information. If you love mysteries then Melinda Leigh is an author to discover as she not only writes smalltown set mysteries but she has a sense of community and family despite the dysfunctionality of some of the families. In Rogue River, we have Carly - who is a social worker and is currently separated to husband Seth who is a police officer. Carly has moved home after her father who was the sheriff died of a heart attack which in later books was revealed to be something of a more sinister nature. In Book #2 we have Car...

Review: Death and Her Devotion - Book #1 Rogue Vows Novella - Kendra Elliot - October 2016 As readers of The Phantom Paragrapher and those who know me IRL, you will know that I am bad at reading books out of order. I never mean too, it just happens. Sometimes I get it right but other times, I end up reading them back to front and that's what happened with Rogue Vows Novellas series. Reading this book second, gave me a clearer view of what had happened and the events leading up to what occurred in Book #2 - Burned by Her Devotion. Death and Her Devotion starts with Zane and Stevie who should have been finally tying the knot being called to the local camping ground as Chase Ryan has been found dead. Chase Ryan is a major Hollywood actor who plays a cop onscreen and has his fair share of stalkers especially one in particular who shows us looks can be deceiving Cyndee. With multiple stories that don't line up and the police of Solitude wanting this wrapped up...

Review: Dead in Her Tracks - Book #2 Rogue Winter Novellas - November 2015 Dead in Her Tracks starts where Track of Her Tears and Bruce is recovering from the accident and the police have Bob in custody after he admitted to killing Bruce's girlfriend Amber-Lynn. In Dead in Her Tracks, Zane and Stevie are called on Christmas day to the local trucker's motel owned by Charlie as a dead body has turned up in one of the rooms. The dead girl is named Vanessa Phillips and bears a striking resemblance to Amber-Lynn which makes the police think that Bob might have killed her as well. They would have been able to find out except someone has broken into the police station and killed Bob. Is someone cleaning up the house and making sure no-one solves the murders? Of course, Stevie and Zane aren't the types of cops to sit on their bottoms and eat doughnuts and soon will uncover a series of missing females and no bodies. Have the pair of them uncovered a potential serial ...
