Review: Just for the Summer - Abby Jimenez

Review: Just for the Summer - Book #3 Part of Your World Series - Abby Jimenez -April 2024 First off, even though this is Book #3 it can be read as a standalone. Just for the Summer is the first title by Abby Jimenez that I have read and I enjoyed it as it had contemporary romance, but also family issues and a bit more depth on both sides than just your normal light fluffy summer-love romance tale. Justin and Emma are the types of people, you date just before you find the one you are to be with forever. When Justin has had enough, he goes on Reddit and that's when Emma spots it. The two chat and decide to try and be an experiment to one another and break the "curse". As Emma works as a traveling nurse, she has got work for her and her foster sister/best friend Maddie spots in Minnesota. While in Minnesota, Justin and Emma get together and we see sparks fly. However, when it comes to saying goodbye, will the pair go their separate ways or will Emma have finally found a fam...

Review: The Inmate - Freida McFadden - June 2022 Brooke has returned home nine years after she left with her son in tow and has gotten a job as a nurse at the local prison, being back in her hometown isn't all it is cracked up to be as a decade ago she sent her boyfriend Shane to prison after he murdered her friends and tried to kill her. She has always believed he was guilty, but as she comes face to face with him in the prison- he is still proclaiming his innocence. When Brooke meets another face who was there that night - Tim. She starts to think back to that fateful night and wonders that if it wasn't Shane then who could it have been? Was it Tim? Did he kill their friends and set Shane up for the fall? Brooke's son also wants to meet his father, so what happens when he realizes his dad is in prison for murder? I have to admit, this one started well as I do enjoy the murder and past experiences, but I have to say the last few chapters of this book took a turn for the w...

Review: ER Nurses - James Patterson and Matt Eversmann

Image
Review: ER Nurses - James Patterson and Matt Eversmann- October 2021 ER Nurses are often the backbones of the medical staff as they are the ones who put themselves on the frontline for our trauma patients and the ones who have seen the dark, dirty side of hospitals and the damage people can do to others as well as the side of sickness and some of the crazy things as well. ER Nurses is a collection of short stories from different ER Nurses from around the USA talking about their different experiences and patients that they have had. Also, a few stories explain the reasons behind why they do what they do as well. This book did take me a bit longer to read than my normal fictional books but as I read each story, I felt like I was right there with them in the hospital rooms, out in the fields, and experiencing what they were feeling. This style of the book was different from James Patterson's normal route of crime books but still a very powerful and inspirational read. It also remin...

VBT# Nurse Mommy - Kristyn Boland

Image
Review: Nurse Mommy - Kristyn Boland - June 2021. Catching up on my book tours, I decided since they are quick reads to go through the picture books coming up. Nurse Mommy was a cute story about a baby who is confused as Mommy is at home one minute and then the next, she is gone. The baby in his language which the father can decipher asks why does Mommy has to go to work? Why can't she stay home with him? The daddy then talks about the amazing work that Mommy does as a Nurse and that she saves lives and even when she is busy saving lives, she is always thinking about her family back at home. Nurse Mommy was a good picture book that covered a couple of topics from working parents to stay-at-home parents to gender role reversal and then what happens at a hospital and what a nurse's role consists of during an average day. Nurse Mommy is the perfect read for children aged 4-7 years old. Amazon: https://amzn.to/3ggbJaJ
