Review: You're Dead to Me - Amy Christine Parker - December 2024 Amy Christine Parker’s You’re Dead to Me is a chilling YA thriller that blends the glam of Gossip Girl with the sinister vibes of Carrie , delivering a high school horror story that’s impossible to put down. Packed with ghostly visions, a masked serial killer, and a fierce heroine on the clock to save her own life, this novel keeps you guessing right until its blood-soaked finale. Meet Ruby, a snarky, sharp-tongued scholarship student at the elite Oleander High School. Straddling the tense divide between the town’s privileged elites and its struggling locals, Ruby’s anonymous gossip blog, ReputationKiller, has earned her both loyal followers and enemies.     Review: XOXO : A Cocktail Book -An Unofficial Gossip Girl Fan Book - Bridget Thoreson - May 2020 Wanting to host a ladies’ night? A fun Cocktail Party for the girls? Titled with the famous catchphrase XOXO, is this amazing cocktail book based on the hit TV show and book series Gossip Girl. As soon as I saw this, I had to check it out as I was a fan of Gossip Girl from about the age of 15-16 years when I first discovered the book series by Cecily von Ziegesar, and then later I was hooked when it came to life on the screen featuring Blake Lively as our beautiful Serena and Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf.  This series had us watching religiously all the dramas that unfolded on the Upper East Side of New York and then trying to figure out who our XOXO - Gossip Girl was - who loved to air the drama online and out in the world. Author Bridget Thoreson has compiled a list of favorite drinks inspired by the show. At the front of the book to it talks about the appropriat...

Review: One Queen of an Ending - Book #3 High School Queens - Zachary Ryan - TBC 2019 We are back with the Johnson Prep crowd and if they thought their secrets died at Graduation and once they left the high school building they would be free, they all have another thing coming as now there is a Queen who is willing to get the ultimate revenge - that revenge is death and she isn't afraid to kill either. The book starts off with Jordan's funeral and then takes a Pretty Little Liars twist with the characters along with a couple of newbies whom we met in the last book as they all received a text message that the game of secrets isn't over and this Queen means business.  We also are reunited with old characters as Jasmine returns back with her mother from Europe hoping to mend fences and Emily is back on the heroin and seeing Matthew's ghost as it features quite prominently in the book. As the games begin and the secrets are threatened, we see the cas...

Review: High School Queens - Book #1 High School Queens Trilogy - Zachary Ryan - March 2019 This series right through the book reminded me of the Gossip Girl novels as we had someone aka "the Marked Queen" narrating in parts of the book. It was a little hard reading the book in this style but as it was an interesting read, you could bypass the frustration. The book starts off with a secret called The Marked Queen. She has been painting targets on everyone's back and keeping their secrets until they piss her off and she feels the need to reveal their deep and darkest secrets to the school. These are the popular students who are living double lives and if their secrets were to be revealed then it could end in dangerous consequences. We have Calvin who is secretly gay and the baseball sports star of the school, Aman who is also gay and in the closet as his parents are Indian-Muslim and pay for his hobby, Danielle who is the High School Queen Bee but has l...
