Review: God of Wrath - Book #3 Legacy of Gods - Rina Kent - November 2022 There's a peculiar disappointment that comes with watching a series you once loved start to unravel. I fell hard for Rina Kent's Legacy of Gods series. Book #1 with Glyn and Killian? Absolutely devoured it. The chemistry, the tension, the perfect blend of darkness and devotion—it was everything I wanted in a dark romance. Book #2 maintained that momentum with solid romantic suspense that kept me turning pages. But Book #3, God of Wrath, left me feeling... uncertain about where this series is headed. The premise started strong. Cecily participating in the Hunt was gripping, and the revelation of her own dark fantasies specifically her rape fantasy kink added layers to her character. When she signs up for an elite sex club expecting to finally be matched with Landon (Glyn's older brother and her longtime crush), the twist that pairs her with Jeremy Volkov instead had real potential. Jeremy, Annika...

Review: God of Pain - Book #2 Legacy of Gods - Rina Kent - September 2022 After absolutely devouring God of Malice and falling head over heels for Rina Kent's Legacy of Gods series, I practically launched myself at Book #2. Let me tell you, diving into God of Pain with my expectations sky-high was both thrilling and slightly dangerous territory. God of Pain centres on Annika Volkov and Creighton King, serving up another delicious opposites-attract romance between the rival USA and UK universities. What I loved is how Rina Kent plays with expectations here. Annika lives on the UK side but her roots are firmly planted in American Mafia soil, while Creighton—adopted into the British King dynasty—is American-born. It's this beautiful tangle of identities and loyalties that made my brain very happy. Annika is everything: purple-obsessed, sunshine personified, radiating happiness whilst desperately trying to distance herself from her brother's dangerous world. When her father a...

Review: God of Malice - Book #1 Legacy of Gods Series - Rina Kent - July 2022 You know that feeling when a book series sits on your shelf for ages—taunting you with its hype, but you’re just not in the right headspace to dive in? That was me with God of Malice by Rina Kent. I’d heard whispers about the Legacy of Gods series, knew deep down I’d probably love it, but I hesitated. Maybe I was scared it wouldn’t live up to the buzz. Spoiler alert: it absolutely did. And then some. This book swept me right back to the early days of New Adult Bullymance—think Paper Prince by Erin Watt, C. Hallman’s gritty romances, and that delicious tension between danger and desire. Rina Kent nails that edgy vibe, and God of Malice reminded me why I fell for this genre in the first place. We meet Glyndon (yes, I kept wanting to call her Gwyndon too), standing on a cliff where her best friend supposedly took his own life. That moment hit hard. It’s raw, unsettling, and sets the tone for a story steeped...

Review: Twisted Kingdom - Book #3 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - January 2020 Wow, what a cliffhanger Book #2 Steel Princess left us with. I was like OMFG he's alive. How on earth though did Jonathon King not realize? You would have thought he would have done some sort of research and also if you are in a coma for nine years, how do you get your functions so quickly. At the end of Book #2, it was revealed that Elsa's father was still alive and he is back and wants Elsa to return as she is the rightful heir to the Steel Empire. Turns out that Knox has a twin sister Teal and are Elsa's foster siblings. They were both victims of her mother and Uncle Reg's games like Aiden. They have been raised by Uncle Angus as well as her father. In this book, we also see that Silver Queens has a change of heart and realizes that she no longer wants to be a pawn or be married to Aiden whom she knows will never love her. She is finally ready to let him go, what happe...

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. I liked this book as it was more intense with Elsa's memories and past returning. In Book #2 it is revealed about he...
