Review: The Do-Over - Lynn Painter - November 2022 To clear my print bookshelf, I have been trying the last year to read more paperbacks as I had about a 2-year stint where I only read ebooks. This one was given to me as a bookstagram gift and it is the third book by Lynn Painter, I have read.  I have read one of her adult books and two YA reads now and I have to admit, I think I am more suited to Lynn's YA reads than her adult ones. There is just something about the YA ones that gives me happy and good vibes and a bit of reminiscing feel-good moments. One of my favorite themes in books is Groundhog Day, the re-living of a day over and over again until one day you get it right and finally can move on with your future. The Do-Over by Lynn Painter is Groundhog Day but set on Valentine's Day. We meet our female character Emilie, who has on paper the perfect boyfriend but she is about to discover that IRL he might not be the perfect guy for her as her Valentine's Day ends up o...

Review: How to Survive Your Murder - Danielle Valentine - August 2022 Alice loves horror movies and everything slashers along with her best friends as she listens to podcasts like Serial and My Favourite Murder. One Halloween, Chloe - one of the popular girls decide to host a Halloween party complete with a corn maze. Alice may love horror movies onscreen but in real life, she is a bit of a wuss. Review: In a Holidaze - Christina Lauren - October 2020 Going through my list of Christina Lauren's books and I have only a couple left to read before I have caught up with her backlist. In a Holidaze is Christmas meets Groundhog Day as we have our main female character Maelyn getting some news this Christmas and sleeping with someone she never thought she would and him shrugging it off. On her way home, she ends up in a car crash, and when she awakes, she finds it is now December 20th and that they are on their way to celebrate Christmas at the cabin. The thing is that the last day Mae remembered was December 26th on their way home from the cabin before the crash. When she arrives, strange things happen as she learns she is reliving her Christmas break. As the book goes on it does get a tad repetitive for my liking as Mae seems to be stuck in an infinite loop of repeating Christmas over and over again. Can Mae make some better choices and change a few lives and learn new things ab...
