Review: Yours Truly - Book #2 Part of Your World Series - Abby Jimenez - April 2023 OMG you guys!!! I have FINALLY found a book that broke my reading slump! If you've been following my reviews lately, you know I've been struggling to find a romance that actually makes me FEEL something. After trudging through what felt like a desert of mediocre reads, "Yours Truly" by Abby Jimenez arrived like an oasis of everything I needed! Let me just say, this book HIT DIFFERENT. Like seriously, I was not prepared for how much it would wreck me in the best possible way. The minute I met Jacob, I literally saw myself in him. That awkward feeling when you're in a crowded room? CHECK. The way he sneaks off to eat by himself in quiet corners because social situations are exhausting? LITERALLY ME. As someone who constantly feels like I'm saying the wrong thing in social settings, watching Jacob navigate these same challenges while still being completely lovable was honestly s...

Review: PS You're Mine - Alexa Riley - January 2016 Being in a reading slump always sucks as it's like everything you try is just so blah and nothing is holding your attention. When I start to feel like this, I scroll through my Kindle and grab authors that I know I will enjoy, and more often this scratches the reading itch. After handing out the names, she realizes that there is one left so she takes it upon herself and starts writing letters to Sergeant Major Mark Gunner. As I was reading this, I had the feeling that he looked like the character that plays Young Gibbs on NCIS Origins. As the book goes along, Katie and Mark continue writing letters and she send...

Review: Lonely Hearts - Book #4 Jessica Shaw Thriller - Lisa Gray - November 2021 Another author I have enjoyed often is Lisa Gray as I find she writes the past/present timelines well as her books start with a murder or crime and then jumps 15-20 years into the future. In Lonely Hearts, we see Devin being murdered, and then jumping forward into the current timeline is PI Jessica Shaw who has been hired by a lady to find her best friend. Years ago, her best friend disappeared with her daughter and they lost contact. This friend is worried that her old friend and daughter are in danger as the wife of a serial killer has been recently found murdered. It turns out that this friend also fell for the same serial killer and had a daughter Mia to him and then after their identity was revealed to the world, she changed their names and ran away where they couldn't ever be found. That is until now as Jessica Shaw is good at her job and if anyone can track them down, it is hers. However, is ...
