Review: The Hayley Mysteries - Book #1 - The Haunted Studio - Hayley LeBlanc - July 2022 If you love mysteries, this is the perfect read for girls aged 8-12 years old. Growing up, I loved Nancy Drew, Enid Blyton, and Harriet the Spy books and so this was quite a fun read. The book starts on the set of the TV show Sadie Solves It where our main girl Hayley plays the detective Sadie along with her two best friends. The season has been renewed for a second season and has moved to Hollywood. The cast is anxious to start the new series, but what happens when they are told the story of a ghost named Betty who wanders the stage? When strange things start happening during filming, they put it down to a ghost but ghosts aren't real, are they? Now with their show in the balance, Hayley and her friends are on a journey to solve the mystery of "The Haunted Studio" before their show ends up in the line of another series of cancelled TV shows. The other awesome thing that I loved abo...

Review: If One Of Them Is Dead - Amia Lacey - June 2013 Needing something quick to read and something to hit that reading urge? One of my favorite go-to's is the Kindle Worlds series and the Pretty Little Liars fan-fiction tales. Growing up in my early to mid-twenties - I discovered after reading a review in a magazine the book Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard and proceeded to read the book series and then along came the TV series which I also fell in love with and now own all the DVDs in the series. When I saw the Kindle World series, I just had to snatch them all up. If One of Us is Dead by Amia Lacey takes its title from the hit theme song of the TV series and transports readers back into the world of Pretty Little Liars where our main girls Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna are all spending the night at Spencer's. The last time they were in this room, was the night Ali disappeared. The girls have a few flashbacks but it seems "A" is still taunting them all and wi...

Top Ten Tuesday : Books that Would Make a Great TV Series

Image
Today's TTT is an awesome theme : It is Books that you wish to see as TV Series. Gosh, there's so many good ones to choose from . I have tried to put it down to just Ten :)   The Bailey Family Series - Piper Rayne  : This series of books features 9 siblings who live in the small town of Lake Starlight. The two older siblings Austin and Savannah raised their family of 7 siblings when their parents died in a plane crash.  A bit like Party of Five meets Parenthood. Se7en Deadly Seals Series - Alana Albertson : This series has NAVY Seals , Crime and undercover work as well as dark secrets. Harmeless/Shameless/False/Stateless Series by Meli Raine - Each of these series are three books and follow on from each other and a build-on from the first. This has Politics, Edginess, NA , Assassins and conspiracies . The Phoenix Candidate Series - Heidi Joy Trethaway - Again this would make a great Political Drama with Romance. The Single Dads Club - Piper Rayne : A to...

Review: Things I Can't Explain - Mitchell Kriegman

Review: Things I Can't Explain - Mitchell Kriegman - November 2015 Growing up I never watched the TV series Clarissa Explains it All as I was too young as it aired between ages 4-7 years for me. I had heard about it though as when I got a bit older Melissa Joan Hart starred in Sabrina and there was lots of talk about her old series being re-run on TV.  Readers, of my blog and reviews will know that one of my tropes is renditions and reimaginings. Things I Can't Explain is what Clarissa's life would look like if she was 20-30 years old. I loved this book as I could imagine myself being in Clarissa's spot. Clarissa had it all and then she lost it after The Daily Post was closed. One day she is getting coffee at her usual spot with the CCG ( Cute Coffee Guy) when her parents turn up from Ohio in the lobby of her old job. One thing leads to another and CCG aka Nick ends up playing her fake boyfriend for the day. From there, little white lies start to spill...

Review: Almost Jamie - Book #1 Jet City Kilt Series - Gina Robinson - June 2017 Doctor Blair Edwards has dreamed like many females around the world to have her own Jamie and be just like Elinor. These are characters on a Scottish show called Jamie which sounded a bit like Outlander meets Vikings. Jamie is the in-thing, and this is about to help Austin who is an IT Geek get his girl as Austin bears a strong resemblance to the character Jamie. In fact, he could be the actor's double and Blair, especially when decked in her handmade Elinor's costume which her Aunt played she looks like Sam the main female lead.  After an accident involving swords at Comic-Con, the pair meet as Blair doctors Austin and in return since Austin and his friends have VIP passes to the Jamie panel. Blair gets a free pass, and the pair meets the lead roles alongside having a bit of VIP treatment as the crowd can't get over their strong likenesses. Has Austin finally met the g...
