Review: Eyes of the Forest - April Henry - August 2021 One of my must-read YA thriller authors to read is April Henry as I have found I always enjoy her stories. So, when I saw Eyes of the Forest ready to read and review, I jumped at the chance and read it as soon as it arrived on my kindle. What makes this book more intricate than her previous books is that it is like two books in one. His fans are angry and some have sent death threats. One crazed fan and his mother end up kidnapping him and locking him in a cabin with only a typewriter and paper as they think if he is in the middle of nowhere with no distractions, he will write. The book then takes on a Misery storyline by Stephen King and reminded me of a modern YA Twist of Stephen's...

Review: Happily Ever Afters - Elise Bryant - January 2021 The cover drew me towards this book and I have also been enjoying reading more diverse authors and authors of color ( without it sounding racist). The other thing that drew me to this book was the laptop and the fact that the main character Tessa was a writer herself. Tessa and her family have just moved to a new town for a new beginning and on one of their first days, Tessa's older brother Miles does a prank involving the neighbors and pizza. This leads Tessa to meet Sam who she is about to learn is also about to start the new school that Tessa is. Chrysalis Academy is a school dedicated to fostering arts from drama, writing, cooking, fashion. Tessa has always had a love for writing but is about to learn that with great writing also comes writers' block and she has it the worst she has ever experienced. Now Tessa is stuck in a school where they rely on her writing to get her grades up, but she has nothing to show for it...
