Review: Prep School Experiment - Emily Evans

Review: Prep School Experiment - Book #2 Experiment Series - Emily Evans - November 2013 One of my favorite YA authors is Emily Evans as I love the fact that she takes ordinary people like you and me and puts them into situations where they end up in a wealthy or a position that they never could have imagined for themselves and in a way they earned it as well fair and square. In Prep School Experiment it starts with one of our main character Rhys's old school friends Elena confessing that she switched his test paper with someone else from their school - Thane ( a boy she liked and wanted a chance with). Back home, Rhys lives in a trailer park with his mum and her latest boyfriend. The book then jumps to the science fair where one of the characters is talking about a hurricane in the town that ended up with children being switched at birth. This leads Rhys life to change as it turns out he was switched at birth and the woman he has called the "Librarian" and gotten close...

Review: Mary - The Adventures of Mary Shelley's (5) Greats - Granddaughter - Brea Grant / Yishan Li

Review: Mary - The Adventures of Mary Shelley's Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Granddaughter - Brea Grant and Yishan Li - October 2020 This graphic novel caught my attention as I liked the aspect of the character being related to Mary Shelley - author of Frankenstein and every now again I do enjoy reading graphic novels. In Mary, we are introduced to Mary who is a high school student and of course related to the famous Mary Shelley. Each of her family members has the skill of writing which is passed down from generation to generation. Mary though finds it hard to stay awake at school and is worried she isn't going to find a passion for writing which is hard when the rest of the female generations are so successful and well-known. It looks as though she has inherited the ability of healing and being a doctor of sorts, which makes sense as her father is a doctor. The thing though is that because she is related to Mary Shelley, she is now being made the Doctor of Supernatural and P...

That was rude,” he said gently, walking up to me. “Being rude isn’t the point, Gale. Review: The Unwanted Spy - Scarlett Haven

Review: The Unwanted Spy - Book #1 The Spy Academy : Royals - Scarlett Haven - June 2020 A theme that Scarlett Haven has seemed to stick with when she is writing most of her series and there have been a few with this exact setting and themes are the Spy Academy run by Michael Sinclair out of Switzerland. The story then focuses on one girl being stuck amongst a team of four boys and then of course the book ends with the group being in a reverse harem situation as the girl has fallen for all the boys and vice versa. The Unwanted Spy was another one of those. The Royals part comes from the elites of the Spy School. These are the students that are the best of the best. Our main female character Roxy is the fifth generation of Spies and all her family has been Royal. Unlike her family, though Roxy hasn't quite gotten the finesse side of being a spy and often seemed like a disappointment. This is her chance to prove to her mother especially that she can be part of their group. The dow...
