Review: The Bromance Book Club - Lyssa Kay Adams

Review: The Bromance Book Club - Book #1 Bromance BookClub - Lyssa Kay Adams - November 2019
I have to admit I was drawn to this book by the title "Bromance Book Club", it intrigued me a book club for guys. What would they be reading? In this case, it was to my surprise regency historical romance novel Courting the Countess. The book starts with Baseball player Gavin Scott lying in his hotel room drunk off his face as his wife Thea has asked for a separation. Gavin has always put baseball first in their relationship and Thea has been the faithful WAG wife but not she is losing herself and drowning in superficiality. A few of the guys on the team invite Gavin to a meeting of sorts when he turns up he will discover that the men run a book club where they read romance novels to understand's their wives' love languages and how to treat their wives respectfully and be good husband material. At first, Gavin is reluctant but as he goes along with the book and starts using some of the tips he has used in the novel, he realizes how much he has faulted his wife Thea. With a deadline of Christmas, can Gavin woo his wife back and treat her with the love and respect she deserves or will it be too late as she has made up her mind? I enjoyed this book as seeing Gavin and Thea in a new light as relationships need this now and again and no longer how long a woman has been in love with you - we all like to be wooed now and again to make us feel special. The only thing I hated about this book was Thea's sister, at first I didn't mind her as she took Thea's side like a sister should but then instead of being supportive of Thea's decisions - she was a selfish female dog. After reading The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams, I now am looking forward to reading the sequel - Undercover Bromance.
