Review: Exodus - Christina Leigh Pritchard
Review: Exodus - Book #9 Escape From Reality Series - Christina Leigh Pritchard - January 2018
Lately, I have been hanging out in the FB group that promotes
Crazy Ink Publications and authors. One of the books that they were pimping recently was Exodus by Christina Leigh Pritchard, which is Book #9 in the Escape from
Reality Series. In this book, we
meet Sophie aka Sophia Linda and her older sister was called Linda Sophia - not
very creative parents, but then again her parents should never have had
children. Sophie's older sister has escaped, and
now it is Sophie's turn, and she isn't
going to make it easy on herself as she escapes with her friend Hannah.
Sophie we learn has an abusive dad and a mum who has battered women's syndrome,
it's so severe they even have an electric fence up around their house, and Sophie had a gun pulled on her for
supposedly stealing a measly $5. Now eighteen and had enough, Sophie hops on a bus to escape her family. On the bus, she
meets an old woman who tells her about a little place in Colorado called Escape which to Sophie sounds
like the perfect haven. Exodus was a very
quick read, and I have to admit, I did feel like this book could have had one
more chapter just to give it a better conclusion or even a little bit more of
what she was escaping from as it felt the movement of the story was just too
quick, and there were quite a lot of unanswered questions. If you don't
mind being left on a cliffhanger ending
where there isn't a sequel, then Exodus
was a great story. I felt a little disappointed as I was reading this great
book and then it had too much of a sudden ending for me. I am however looking
forward to reading the other novellas in the Escape from Reality Series.
