Review: Two Sides to Every Murder - Danielle Valentine

Review: Two Sides to Every Murder - Danielle Valentine -June 2024

Seventeen years ago, the town was a quiet one with a summer camp that had people flocking to - that was until it became a sight on a horror tourist map.  One night seventeen years ago, there were two pregnancies and three murders. One woman was framed for the murders and so she fled the state with her baby Reagan. The other woman who was the camp director Miranda Edwards left that night with her daughter Olivia and closed the camp that had been in her family name for years.  Now with the anniversary of the deaths coming up and the potential of the camp reopening, two girls for two different reasons are determined to discover the truth about what happened that fateful night. One is determined to discover the truth of who her real father is and the other one is determined to clear her mother's name as she knows that her mother couldn't possibly be a murderer and the truth lies with someone known as M. Edwards. This YA thriller does give readers Friday the 13th Vibes, especially with the ending that had left me gasping and I was like damn Danielle leaving us with this. If you love past/present timelines, 80s summer camp slashers, and final girls' stories - then you will enjoy this YA spooktober read, and remember there are always two sides to every murder.
