Review: 20 Minutes Around the Bonfire - Book #7 20 Minutes Series - Daniel Hurst - November 2020 Needing something to read as the year winds down, I have felt in a reading slump this week, I clicked into the 7th book in Daniel Hurst's 20 Minutes Series. This is one of those multi-character novel series where each character is represented by its chapter and the book does not repeat the same character's viewpoint but you may see their paths cross with one another. It also shows you a lot can happen in 20 minutes. It is Guy Fawkes time and everyone is gathered in the park for an amazing fireworks display, but a few are there to settle their scores and plans. The book starts with Bodgan paying off his debt to protect Jelena, then we move to Jelena following him into the park. Robbie - the loan shark admiring his daughter Lucy's performance and asking Will for a picture and autograph, Will mourning the savage loss of his mother who was killed recently by our serial killer who th...

Review: 20 Minutes at Halloween - Book #6 20 Minutes Series - Daniel Hurst - October 2020 In the blink of an eye, or rather, in the span of twenty minutes, the lives of various characters interconnect in ways both expected and surprising. Daniel Hurst's "The 20 Minute Series" offers an intriguing exploration of these interconnected lives, a concept that continues to captivate readers as it unfolds through each book in the series. I discovered this series last year, and the latest installment, Book #6, has once again proven itself as an enticing addition to the collection. One of the unique aspects of this series is its focus on a diverse cast of characters, each experiencing their own set of trials and tribulations during a shared twenty-minute break. The narratives often intertwine, creating a web of connections that keeps readers engaged and curious about the outcomes. Familiar faces like Bodgan and Jelena, Will and his mother Ruth, Lindsay and Diego, and others make a ...

Review: 20 Minutes on Holiday - Book #4 20 Minutes Series - Daniel Hurst - July 2020 I had just recently discovered this series and I have been enjoying it as it is just a mishmash of characters in their lives over the same 20 minutes of the day. This series opens your mind wide to show we are all different and everyone is going through something in their lives. Like the previous books in the series, we have some familiar characters who have been with us since Book #1 and a few that were introduced in Book #3 and then some brand-new ones.  This book is all about going on holiday, having a reset in your life, letting your hair down, and just having fun, or in some cases, the holiday can be an eye-opener for your future. We have our original cast of Bodgan, Jelena, Harry, Josh, and Carol and then we have Chantelle - Will's friend, Laslo and Priya who showed up in Books #2 and #3, and then we have Tom and his wife Kelly who we met at the music festival.  Each of these couples i...

Review: 20 Minutes in the Park - Book #3 20 Minutes Series - Daniel Hurst - May 2020 Moving into Book #3 of this series, we have the Music Festival at Hyde Park. This book like the previous two is a novel inter-connected with several characters, some of which we have seen in the previous books and others are new. We also have a few questions answered from the previous two as well. The book starts with Jelena's story as she is recuperating now from her tragic ordeal and enjoying a day at Hyde Park when she sees one of the guys who abused her. We have Bogdan again standing up for Jelena, Harry who finds some "sweet mints" and this ends on his cliffhanger and I hope in the next book, that we see he didn't take them, Jag whose about to discover that this is her last day on earth, we learn what happened to Olivia - our lovely red-haired female from the tube, Louise who is still thinking about what Josh did to her and then, of course, April who is now dating Josh for the ...
