Review: A Slayer Comes to Town - Scott Westerfeld - October 2012 Before the world was saturated with vampire TV shows and movies like Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, and True Blood. There was one show that ruled the 90s and early 2000s for Vampires and it even inspired a spin-off called Angel. That TV show which was also made into a movie was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Scott Westerfeld famous for his Uglies series and science fiction novels, brings a quick read essay from Smart Pop Kernels called A Slayer Comes to Town which is his impression and the impacts of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Scott Westerfeld talks about the differences between alternate worlds vs trespass worlds and how they relate to the hit TV show.     Review: Fic - Anne Jamison - November 2013 One of my favourite book publishing companies is SmartPop . They explore TV Shows, Book Phenomenons etc and give them a philosophical looksie at the book, Tv Show or Movie. One of the recent ones I read was Fic . This was a collection of essays exploring the art of Fan-Fiction starting way back when with fan-fiction tales of Spock and Star-Trek and I did learn Spock's blood type was in fact T-Negative. Then it moved on to Sherlock Holmes which of course is one of the largest fan-fiction based enterprise with hundreds of stories spun from Sherlock and of course Movies and TV Shows. To Modern day Fan-Fiction which of course included the number #1 book that has set off the Fan-Fiction bells and started a trend in publishers and authors releasing Erotic fiction - you know the book I am talking about - It's Fifty Shades of Grey.
