VBT# The Apology Box - Naomi Ulsted - December 2021 I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but as I got into it, I found myself loving it and feeling empathy towards the main character Tessa who sadly was the one in the wrong place at the wrong time and her actions were of someone who was trying to fit in and then one wrong choice made her an outcast. The Apology Box tells the story of Tessa who is 16-17 years old, she and her mum has just moved to a small town and Tessa is trying to fit in and makes a couple of new friends. One day, they decide to ditch school and go to the forest, where the boys have Beer and Fireworks. Tessa gets handed a live firework and, on a reflex, she chucks it and next thing - the whole forest is on fire. As the other families are known around town, the kids get a slap on the wrist and move along.
