Review: Rebel Girls - Animal Allies - Rebel Girls Series - April 2023 It's books like this that make me wish I had a daughter or at least a close niece that loved reading that I could share these books. Sadly, the two that I have a close relationship with that are girls aged 6 and 8 are more into technology than reading which is a shame. Maybe they might turn to books when they are older. In this series Rebel Girls, I also wish it was around when I was growing up just imagine the careers I could have ended up with or the heroes I had as a female. I would have had some great strong female role models, but back then we didn't have this exposure. I recently went to a talk about the scientist Marie Curie and they talked about the oppression of women in careers despite there still being some struggles, even in the last 20 years we have come so far for females to be recognised as when I was growing up, we didn't have that recognition and I grew up in the 90s and the early to mi...

Review: Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls - Baby's First Book - July 2022 Growing up, I just wish there was a series like this as I would have loved it so much and been inspired probably to become someone great or make something of myself as I have that activist spirit and the passion but just not the courage or opportunity as I am an introvert and not in the right situation to do something like this as I have bills to pay and responsibilities. VSA is like Volunteers with degrees, so you could be working as a librarian in a third world country, etc. The idea always sparked interest for me and in my heart - that's what I wanted to do is serve and do something like this but life takes us down unexpected journeys and it just wasn't meant to be. This series Rebel Girls is amazing...

Review: Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls - Black Girl Magic - Rebel Girls - September 2021 Part of me wishes I had a daughter/niece who I could share these books with as each one they release are amazing and it gives the children role models from all walks and areas of life and shows girls that no matter what happens you can achieve anything and that it's a good thing that girls can have both beauty and brains and more often our world is always highly shadowed by males who achieve greatness rather than the females. We are also coming into a new generation where women of color who were often shunned or placed in the background are also being acknowledged along with their white female counterparts which I love as that is the way it should be, it should never be about the color of their skin but what they have achieved. Black Girl Magic is laid out in the same format as the other books in this series where each tale is given a double spread of one page per story and a full-color pi...
