Review: Avocado Magic - Taltal Levi - March 2024 I had been in the past couple of weeks in a really bad reading slump for myself and when I get like this and I am screaming out for books to read, I give myself something quick to read and I know I had a couple of picture books left on my Netgalley shelf to read and review. Review: Butt or Face ? - Kari Lavelle - July 2023 As someone whose job was to read to children and keep their interest, I am now always checking out fun books for the kids even though I have left the job, it's become second nature to me. This one was a fun non-fiction read and great if you are teaching about different animals - especially the weird and wacky ones to the children. This book has on various pages, a single picture of either an animal's butt or its face, and then the children have to guess what part of the body it is. Then on the following page is a picture of the animal and the location of the body part, I have to admit in parts there were bits when I was confused as really, it could have been both or either or. Also on the pages next to the animals are fun facts about them. This book is great for children aged 7-10 years and a book that is not only great for learning but also for having fun. Review: Love will Turn You Around - Mary Munson - March 2023 This was a very cute picture book and one about shapes which I also enjoyed. Our friend "the heart" doesn't feel quite right, he feels not himself today. He doesn't quite know what's wrong, but with his friends - the other shapes, they will work together to help our Heart feel his best again. During the book, we read as Heart meets other shapes who try to get Heart to be just like them from a Triangle to a square to a circle to more complicated shapes like stars and rhombi aka multiple rhombus. Review: Praise Him - Lauren Chandler - September 2022 A cute little children's Christian picture book is Praise Him by Lauren Chandler. Lauren tells the story of a cute little girl who is praising the lord for all the beautiful things around in nature. Praise him goes through the sunny days, the stormy days, and the dark evening but knowing that God is always there helps you to praise him for everything from the littlest things to the great big miracles. It also helps us remember that no matter how dark and hard life can be, God is always there for us no matter what and we just have to Praise him for the wonderful life he has given us.  I love the Christian picture books that are published these days as back when I was a little child, we never had these books which is a shame as I would have enjoyed them and we would have had a collection of them at home.
