Title: King of Nothing Author: Aurora Rose Reynolds Genre: Contemporary Romance Tropes: Hurt/Comfort, Redemption, Secret Billionaire, Emotional Scars, Road Trip Release Date: July 29, 2024 BLURB I met him when my ship was sinking, and I clung to him through the storm. Little did I know he needed me as much as I needed him. The first time I saw Roman Dante King, he stuck out like an odd puzzle piece that got mixed up in the wrong box. It wasn’t his blue eyes in the dim light of the bar, the tattoos that covered his arms and hands, or even his arrogant personality. It was something else—something I couldn’t see—that told me he didn’t belong in our small beach town on the Oregon coast. Elora Mazie Barlow reminded me of a hummingbird zipping from one flower to another, never stopping, never allowing anyone more than a glimpse before she was gone. Never letting anyone in… until me. Then she gave me her smiles that were more valuable than anything I ever owned and wrapped me in...

Review: Given A Buckley's Chance - Nikki Perry and Kirsty Roby - October 2023 Earlier this year, I read The Missing Wife/Life by this New Zealand duo of sisters and enjoyed the book as it took us on a road trip from Wellington to down the South Island.  I was contacted by the pair to read their latest one Given A Buckley's Chance which takes us across the ditch to another land down under - Australia. In Given A Buckley's Chance, we meet the Buckley family who haven't been back to the family farm as a group in years, and now with one of their cousins turning 40, Stephen has decided to make it a fun birthday and reignite the family's annual scavenger hunt and rules and the winner gets $100K. Each of the cousins is in, if not for the family fun but the money as it could help them all in one way or another. The tour bus will be driven by Linc - someone who Keri Buckley almost had a one-night stand with and killed his cockatoo -hence the dead bird on the cover. We als...

Review: The Missing Wife/ Life - Nikki Perry and Kirsty Roby - October 2022 The Month of May was the Clear Your Bookshelves challenge and so I made my goal to target the books on my bookshelf. This one was given to me to review and I was looking forward to the book as it was set in New Zealand being from New Zealand, it was fun to read a book based on parts of memories and to get a rough idea of the scenery and adventures. I also liked this book, at the start of every few chapters was a fun newspaper article that related to the particular chapter. The Missing Wife/Life starts with two mothers waking up hungover after moving their children into a flat ready for University in Wellington. The woman wake up to discover that they pooled their money together and brought a bright pink ex-plumber van. The two mothers decide to go on a road trip as Faith needs to be down in Invercargill to visit her brother and say goodbye to her Dad as he is ill and Anna's marriage has been on the rocks ...
