Review: The Lies He Told - Valerie Keogh - July 2021 I have found this past month a bit of a struggle with reading as lately I have either been too busy to read or I am finding it harder for books to keep my attention. This book though was an amazing read and one of the better thrillers I have read certainly this week as read a couple for book tours. This book starts with our writer Misty who makes her wealth writing thrillers and one day, out of the blue her boyfriend Toby tells her he is leaving her and doesn't love her anymore. Just like that. He leaves and she never sees him again. The next thing she knows, she gets a knock on the door - a female named Gwen who is his new girlfriend says Toby didn't show up. Misty discovers that just like she was caught blindsided and the girlfriend Babs before Misty, Gwen has been too. Then imagine my surprise when we get a fourth female who turns out to be Toby's wife of twenty years. We learn as the book goes on that Toby loved to ...

Review: Fragile Things - Book #1 Folkestone Sins - Samantha Lovelock - August 2020 I have been looking forward to reading this book as the blurb enticed me in. It reminded me as I was reading the book a mix between Cassie James "Patience Series" and Lisa Helen Gray with her Wrong Crowd. The book starts with our main character Stella receiving a wooden box with a letter. The letter is addressed to her real name, a name she has not used in years as even growing up - her mum made them use fake names until her mother disappeared without a trace when she was 15 years old. Now two years later, Stella has been living on her own and working as a waitress and trying to do schooling online. The letter is apparently from her Aunt Cecily asking her to visit her in Folkestone. Stella accepts and makes her way to Folkestone. She is about to get the surprise of her life as she learns that her mother came from wealth and her family the Bradleigh's were one of the founding famil...

Review: Wicked Devil - Book #1 Devils of Sun Valley High Series - Daniela Romero - August 2020 You know how sometimes you read too much of a particular trope and then you get bored and stop for a while and then hop back into it and you find yourself enjoying the trope all over again. That was me with the bullymance trope and Wicked Devil by Daniela Romero. This book starts with Allie Ramirez who is having to move to the small town of Sun Valley as her mother has just died and to make it worst she caught her boyfriend and her best friend sleeping together. Allie has hit a triple whammy and the friends she does have left, she has to say goodbye too. Allie is picked up and transported to a different world where her Bio-Dad is one of the wealthiest people in town and has an assistant doing all his daily work including looking after and making sure she has everything. This world is different than she is used too, at least she managed to get her Dad to let her go to Publi...

Review: Hate to Love You - Tijan

Review: Hate To Love You - Tijan - August 2017 I was excited to read this book as Tijan wrote it and as I started reading it, I remembered why I loved reading her books. They are so addicting, and once you get started, you want to read it all in one sitting as you find yourself drawn into the story. They are so easy to read, it's like candy. Kennedy who by the way was a kick-azz character, I loved her as she wasn't afraid to tell people what she thought about them. I did later learn this was her coping mechanism, but she was strong-willed .  Kennedy is studying law and ends up being in the same class as two of the school's football stars Shay Coleman and Linde. Now that Kennedy is in college and been burned by a football jerk before - Parker she is staying away from the jocks. However, Shay is not someone who is used to girls saying no to him, and there is a spunk about Kennedy that he likes. Thus begins a romantic chase for Shay as he trie...
