Man Down Kate Meader (Rookie Rebels #3) Publication date: July 28th 2020 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance Gunnar Bond is broken. Three years ago, he lived through the car crash that took his wife and twins away from him—though “lived” barely describes his current state. Giving up professional hockey, going off grid, and drinking himself into oblivion are his coping mechanisms. Another is texting his dead wife about his days without her. Therapeutic? Doubtful. Crazy? Definitely. But those messages into the ether are virtually the only thing stopping him from spiraling to even darker places. Until someone texts back . . . Sadie Yates is losing it. Suddenly guardian to a little sister she doesn’t know and a misbehaving hound she’d rather not know at all, she’s had to upend her (sort of) glamorous life in LA and move back to Chicago. The nanny has quit, the money’s running out, and her job is on the line. The last thing she needs is her sister’s hockey camp counselor, a ...

Review: Flawed - Cecelia Ahern

Review: Flawed - Book #1 Flawed Series - Cecelia Ahern - March 2016 I have always been a fan of Cecelia Ahern's earlier books , but her last couple of Chick-lit and Women's Fiction I haven't been able to get into . So when I saw this one come in to the library, I wanted to read it but I was a bit skeptical about it. I liked the premise of the book as I am a fan of Dystopian and future societies and with Cecelia Ahern writing it , I thought why not and I gave it a go. I was surprised as I enjoyed it and found myself reading through the pages quite quickly. I couldn't put it down as I needed to know what Celestine would do with the future that was now ahead of her. In Celestine's part of the world, they live in a community in which you are to remain perfect and if you make one tiny step out of that line you are deemed to be Flawed and will be judged and then branded for your particular flaw. Celestine has always followed the rules, until one day s...

Looking for a new Chick Lit novel to get into ? Are you a fan of Cecelia Ahern's books ? Get ready for her latest hit ..... Review: One Hundred Names - Cecelia Ahern- October 2012 Journalism is a hard career to get into and a lot can happen in the background that others aren't aware of , so who better to write a book about journalistic expectations and disasters than one of Ireland's best journalists now turned book writer Cecelia Ahern. I have read all her books but personally , Im not too sure what it is but I haven't been personally overly impressed with her last three. My all-time favourite would have to be Where Rainbows End. In One Hundred Names , we read as Kitty a journalist who has made a big mistake that has already ruined her career is looking for a chance to redeem herself when the Editor of Ectcetra passes away from Cancer. In a bid to make a commerative issue, Constance before she passed gave Kitty a list of 100 names - no notes, ju...

On the lookout for a new Irish author to try ? Love Family Saga's ? Review: Three Women - Marita Conlon-McKenna - February 2012 As readers know, I love book covers and blurbs, they are the two things that I will look for if I have never read anything by the author before . If it is an author I've read and enjoyed, I will pick it up regardless.  When I was doing my practicum at Tauranga Girls College, I saw this book come through and I jotted the title down in my books to read and then when I was back at work in Greerton , it came through in the new books bin.  I grabbed it and started reading it, I could not put it down and I found it quite a quick read. Three Women as the title suggests tells us the journey of three women that one life changing decision will connect them all together, a decision that was made over 20years ago.  Erin has always known she was adopted and now on her 26th birthday, she yearns to find out all about her biological parents, ...
