Review: The Only One Left - Riley Sager - June 2023 Near the end of last year, I read Survive the Night by Riley Sager and decided that I was going to read all of Riley Sager's booklist I was determined to get it done by the end of 2023 and now I can tick the goal off my reading list as with The Only One Left finished, I am now up to date with his books. This book was set in the 1970s and flashed back to 1929 when it was said that Lenora Hope killed her parents and her sister Virginia. As the Only One Left surviving, Lenora was arrested but let go due to not enough evidence. Kit has been hired to be Lenora's nurse and caregiver. In the house still resides Mrs Baker and Archie who have been with the Hope family even before that fateful night. Lenora hopes to tell her story and h...

Review: The Last Time I Lied - Riley Sager - July 2018 Have you ever gone back to a book a second time around and found yourself enjoying it the second time? For me, that was Riley Sager's The Last Time I Lied. I tried it initially in August 2019 and at that time I couldn't get into it and rated it 2 stars which is my DNF score. Those twists and surprises we don't see coming.  The novel is split into two timelines - past ( 15 years ago) and present time.  Fifteen years ago Emma attended Camp Nightingale and one night three of her cabin mates left Dogwood and never returned, th...

Home Before Dark is a tale that reminds me of The Amityville Horror and a Haunting in Connecticut as we meet Maggie Holt whose family was famous as her father wrote a book based on the hauntings of Banbury Manor where they lived for only 20 days when Maggie was five years old. Things were so bad, that they just up and left in the middle of the night. Her dad wrote the book and it was instant fame for the family, later of course Maggie's parents divorced, and now twenty years later Maggie's dad Ethan has died and Maggie has learned that her parents never sold Banbury Manor and that she has inherited it. Curious to find out once and for all about the twenty days and to discover what ...
