Review: Initium - Book #2.5 Nocte Series - Courtney Cole - September 2015 What does one do when they feel themselves in a bit of a slump and want something to read and hit the spot but can't decide? They end up scrolling and end up clicking on an older title that has been sitting on the Kindle for years. Have you ever read a series but left it in between each book for far too long? That was me with this one as I had to go back and re-read my reviews of Books 1-3 in the Nocte Series. I got the gist of it and then went to read this one and I felt myself confused again as the characters didn't quite match up with names I had read previously. That was until one of the baby's names was revealed Adair DuBray aka Dare DuBray - Calla's boyfriend. Initium is the story of Adair's birth and how his mum Olivia was promised to an evil man named Richard but her heart belonged to Philip DuBray, a mysterious handsome guy she never could be fully with. This book talks about the fa...

Review: Lux - Courtney Cole

Review: Lux -Book #3 The Nocte Trilogy - Courtney Cole - October 2015 I have to admit that this book has been on my kindle since 2015 and has been another one that I just hadn't gotten around to reading until now when I was searching through my kindle. I had read Books #1 and #2 in 2014/2015 and so it has been four years since I last dived into this series. I think for myself I probably shouldn't have left it that long as some parts had me a little confused and thinking what's going on as I had to rack my brain and remember what I had read in the previous books and also connecting the dots of Who's who in the series.  Lux has a past/present feel to the novel as we read about Calla's lives of spending summers with her mother's family in England and how she first met Dare whom we knew as her boyfriend in the first two books. There is a dangerous curse in the family and now things have been disrupted as Calla loves Dare and isn't supposed...

Review: Such Dark Things - Courtney Evan Tate

Review: Such Dark Things - Courtney Evan Tate - March 2018 "Fatal Attraction Meets The Girl on The Train"  I have been a fan of Courtney Cole's earlier work and loved her edgy series Nocte, so when she messaged saying she had a new one out under a different pen name. I jumped at the chance to read it as it sounded like something up my alley. It starts off with Corrine Cabot who is a doctor ending up in a psych ward with the idea that she tried to kill herself. The thing is that Corrine is a medical doctor and knows the "real" way to kill herself if she wanted and nothing is adding up for her. Is she going crazy like her father who is in jail for killing his mistress and her husband? I have to admit this book in parts made me angry especially the fact where Corrine loved her husband Jude and though she worked for heaps and they didn't get to see each other. He starts having a guilty affair with Zoe - a young new waitress. I w...

Release Day Blitz: My Peace - Courtney Cole

Happy endings must be worked for. Pax Tate used to be an effed up asshole, but you’d never know it now. He’s got a sexy wife, their own little family, a cozy home, and a successful career. Everything is perfect. Until his past rears its ugly head. Pax will do anything to protect his family, even if he destroys himself in the process. **BUY ON AMAZON ** Note from Courtney: Dear Readers, I announced recently that I based the character of Pax Tate on my twenty-two year old son, Gunner. Gunner is a drug addict. He's currently in rehab, and he's doing well, but it's been a long roller-coaster of a journey to get here. Pax's personality traits are Gunner's. Even though Gunner's moods have been mercurial because of drugs, deep down he is strong and funny, charming and sweet. I wanted that to come through in Pax. (Of course, when I'm writing the "sexy time" scenes, I'm definitely picturing Jensen Ackles or Alex Petty...
