Review: Gaslight - Miles Jorie-Peyrafitte and Sara Shepard - September 2024 You know how as readers, we have those auto-authors - they are the ones that no matter what they release or have their name added to - we will always read and give it a go. For me Sara Shepard is one of those authors as over 20 years ago I fell in love with her Pretty Little Liars series which at the time I had read it - she had only written the first two books. I even had the opportunity in 2017 to meet Sara Shepard and of course, I got a few pictures with her as she was dressed as Red Coat "A". Gaslight starts with Becca having her old friend Dani turn up from her past. It's a life Becca wants nothing to do with as she escaped it and did her best to stay hidden, but now with her other friend Toby who also escaped dead. It's only a matter of time before they track down Becca and her oldest son. Growing up Becca's family was heavily involved in a religious cult and during her high school a...

Review: True Lies - Book #5.5 The Lying Game Series - Sara Shepard - June 2013 When you are in the mood to read but nothing is grabbing you and the clock is ticking? What is your go-to read? Mine is novellas or short stories and what better ones that take you back into the world of some of your favorite series like Sara Shepard's The Lying Game - though in my defense anything by Sara Shepard is great as she is one of my favorites. In True Lies, Thayer has run away and the gang is all missing him in different ways. Laurel wants in with the Lying Game crew but this is Sutton's baby and she doesn't want to share another thing with Laurel. Of course, Laurel has Mads and Charlotte on her side which means Sutton must now participate in a Lying Game Showdown. If Sutton wins then Laurel can't join but if Laurel wins - then she is a new member of The Lying Game Club. The book and challenges take place in Las Vegas and of course, at the end, we get that sneak peek of Emma - Sut...

Review: The First Lie - Book # 0.5 The Lying Game Series - Sara Shepard - December 2012 You know how you have those days where you want to read but nothing grabs you, and you try and try again and everything is blah. That's how I feel sometimes with my books. In those moments, you should have an author or books on your Kindle that you know that no matter what they will work wonders for you and hit the spot.  Sara Shepard is one of those authors for me and then as it was also getting later at night, a novella was perfect. A nice quick read. With The First Lie, I was instantly transported back into the world of The Lying Game with Sutton Mercer and her friends. The First Lie is set before Sutton learns about Emma, and Sutton and her friends are trying to come up with this year's prank. Char, Mads, and Sutton decide to take Mad's younger brother Thayer down a notch as he's come back Mr. Popular and Sexy. They will do it by pretending Sutton is in love with him and ju...

Review: Wait For Me - Sara Shepard

Review: Wait for Me - Sara Shepard - November 2022 You know how we all have those favourite authors, the ones that no matter what they write or publish we will be bound and compelled to read it? One of the ones on my list is Sara Shepard. Years before Pretty Little Liars was even a twinkle in the TV producer's mind, I read the first couple of books and I was hooked. It became one of my favourite YA book series and so in everything that followed by this author, I have made it my goal to read. Some I enjoy, and others are a bit odd but still, I do read them. Wait for Me was one of those reads in the middle where it had a great premise but at the same time was a bit off and odd in parts. The book starts with a woman about to get married and then she is kidnapped. Then it jumps over to the present time and we meet Casey who is dating a wealthy guy called Marcus Coleman. Casey is a young, smart teen but she feels off when it comes to Marcus and so she disappears to a town called Avon ...
