Review: Before the Fall - Noah Hawley

Review: Before The Fall - Noah Hawley - May 2016   Maybe I am one for irony, and also I know a book is a book. Before The Fall is about a plane crash and guesses where I was when I started reading it. I was sitting in a plane flying to Texas. Before the Fall by Noah Hawley was an intense read and it delves into the aftermaths of plane crashes and how easily people's perceptions of others can change the course of how others are viewed as either the hero or the villain . Before The Fall takes a hard look at what goes on before an accident and what can happen afterward and how those small decisions that we make every day can have deadly consequences. From someone being invited onto a plane and surviving.  To finding a little boy and helping him. To rejecting someone at a bar as you didn't want to have a relationship with them. These tiny decisions can affect all of our lives and those around us, and the scary thing is at the time we make those...

Miller - June 2016 On June 18, 1992, a plane crashed off Long Island and many families lost loved ones as there were no survivors. This isn't the story about the crash or the victims that lost their lives in the plane crash but the story of those who were left behind. The families of the victims that died in the plane crash. Two families in particular.  Ruby Kaminski, lost her mother in the plane crash and her dad ended up in a depressed state. Now with her Nana trying to keep the household together, Ruby moves from day to day but has found that the crash also caused her to lose not only her boyfriend Mitchell but her other friends.  Brett and his twin sister Amber and older half-brother Cole lost both of their parents in the plane crash. Since Brett and Amber are 18, they are looking after themselves while Cole is doing his...

VBT# Kisses on a Paper Airplane - Sarah Vance-Tompkins

Image
Review: Kisses on a Paper Airplane - Sarah Vance-Tompkins - May 2016 One of my favourite themes to read about and one that I certainly am a sucker for is the Cinderella type stories where your ordinary plain Jane meets a handsome guy and they can fall in love or even have a "moment" , a just for now instead of a HEA. One that can be story that they will reflect on in the future. Kisses on a Paper Airplane was one of those books. Hannah is flying back home for her mother's impromptu wedding and is travelling in luxury from London to New York as her new stepdad -to-be has brought her a first class ticket. When her first flight is delayed, Hannah ends up in the first class lounge where she meets a handsome guy named "T". She has no idea who he is at this point and he likes that , and they strike up a friendship. This friendship carries them throughout the different airports and stops and the pair almost have their first kiss as she now knows who he...

Stephanie Alba - Your Mess is Mine - Cover Reveal

Image
Title: Your Mess Is Mine Author: Stephanie Alba Release Date: May 31, 2016 Add on Goodreads I don't trust people who follow their hearts. Hearts are peculiar things. They're necessary muscles that keep us alive by pumping blood and oxygen into our veins. Hearts are also compulsory, often making us foolish. They pull us towards others with a force that aches, burns, and satiates you all at once. Before you know it that mass of tissue is no longer yours. Maybe mine never was. In my case, that draw came from a stranger that left my heart feeling both fulfilled and consumed. I didn't expect to fight her for the last standby seat to New York City. I didn't plan on letting her get under my skin. Or the way her vulnerability tore me up inside and compelled me to care for her. She didn't plan on letting me witness her chaos. Her anxious heart and my perfectionist mind let things get messy. And th...

Heading home after another extreme mission, Keane "Ghost" Bryson hadn't planned to seduce someone during his layover, but Rayne is too sweet to resist.
