VBT# Dating 911- Kathleen Grieve

Today's VBT# is authoress Kathleen Grieve and her new novel Dating 911 . This tour is part of the blog Coffee Beans and Love Scenes.

Synopsis: Dating 911 - Kathleen Grieve
Emergency room nurse, Roxanne Carter is a loser-magnet wishing she could enjoy her single life. Commiserating with girlfriends over butterscotch martinis creates the idea of The Dating Manifesto—a not so scientific research project which promises to point the way to dating success. While gathering data to find the most suitable single men available, she wades through a series of unsavory, stale dates, which literally places her back at ground zero. Just when she is ready to give up, sin personified in the form of sexy firefighter Jett Avery, arrives tainting all of her previous data. A traumatic warehouse fire, in which firefighter Jett Avery's closest friend dies, has him suffering from Posttraumtic Stress Disorder. Attempting to stave off the worst of his depression, he decides to use his brand of therapy...Sex. The remedy has lost luster until he encounters ER nurse Roxanne Carter.
About The Author: Kathleen Grieve:
A graduate of University of Nebraska Medical Center, Kathleen Grieve earned a Bachelors Degree in Science and Nursing in 1994. She has been a dedicated nurse for the past seventeen years, serving most of those years in intensive care. Always writing, Kathleen chose to pursue yet another career- that of a writer. An avid romance reader of all genres since age 13, she decided to try a hand at writing her own novel in the summer of 2006.
She draws a lot from the real-life medical drama she experiences as a RN for her novels. Writing romance is a creative outlet where she can effectively deal with the daily stress and sorrow, adding levity and humor to situations that provide a happily ever after when there isn't one.

Author Guest Post:

REAL MEN DO CRY…

Crying is an expression and release of stress. Whether we’re extremely angry, sad, in pain, we may express ourselves through crying. Some believe that if a man cries, he’s a sissy. Is that true?
I think it depends on the man. If this man is trying to manipulate someone into doing what he wants by turning on the waterworks…than he is not a sissy—he’s calculating and cunning. Because then how does that other person feel? Especially if she’s a woman—she feels horrible.
But I do believe that if a man is genuinely sincere and he cries, showing his true emotion, then he is a real hero. He is expressing himself the only way he knows how. Here’s a pic of Jensen Ackles expressing some really great emotion… Umm…now where was I? Oh, yeah…

In my current release, Dating 911, I think if my hero firefighter Jett Avery would’ve allowed himself to cry and express his emotions that he suppressed for so long he would’ve been able to deal with the loss of his friend in a warehouse fire. The Phoenix Fire Department has a Critical Incident Debriefing Team to help their firefighters and paramedics through the harsh realities of what they deal as first responders.
I want to thank you for having me here today! I’m leaving you with a picture of some truly yummy first responders…
I hope you leave a comment for your chance to win a free digital copy of my current release, Dating 911. Enjoy them! Life is too short not to!

  1. This book has been On My TBR for a short time now That cover just draws me in!! It's nice that you can tie your job experiences into your writing. How come they don't have first responders that look like that where I live?!? Just unlucky, I guess:(

Thanks for the chance to win your book.
