Review: Undone by Cat Clarke

Looking for an Edgy teen Novel ?
Do you enjoy reading teen novels that include Suicide ?

Review: Undone - Cat Clarke - January 2013
If you are like myself and love to read books about Suicide and Edgy Content in teen literature , then this is the book for you . Undone features a lot of edgy issues in teen lives from being a homosexual to peer pressure to suicide as well as revenge , love, sex and friendships. Undone tells the story of best friends Jem and Kai - Jem has been in love with her best friend Kai forever, however Kai is gay. When the pair go to a party, things backfire and a video of Kai and a guy making out goes viral. The other guy is pixelated but Kai you can clearly see that it is him. One thing leads to another and soon Kai commits Suicide. One month later Jem is ready to kill herself when she receives a knock on her door - it is Kai's sister Louise - she has 12 envelopes for Jem , that she has to open up one each month. In the envelopes it is Kai's letters to Jem and so this part reminded me heavily of PS I Love You with Gerard Butler's letters to Hillary Swank. Wanting to learn the truth of what happened to Kai and exact revenge she goes and targets the popular group with a years goal in mind. That once this is over , she will join Kai in the otherworld.
Undone is a story on how one prank can go terribly wrong and how one person's actions can cause a domino effect on not only one person but a whole bunch of people - which is where the Thirteen Reasons Why similarity comes into play.
Just a warning readers, if you do love books with HEA endings, then Undone by Cat Clarke is not your type of book. But then if you love gritty and nitty type of books then this is the read for you :)
