Review: Stalking Jack the Ripper - Kerrie Maniscalco
Review: Stalking Jack the Ripper - Book #1 Stalking Jack the Ripper Series - Kerri Maniscalco - September 2016
Have you ever read a book and couldn't get into it the first time and then months, maybe even years later given it another go and found yourself enjoying it? For me, one of those books was Stalking Jack the Ripper. I tried back in March 2017 but couldn't finish it. Now with the release of Book # 3, I decided to give it another go. This time around I enjoyed it with all the twists and turns. The book starts with young Audrey working with her Uncle Jonathan in his morgue and attending his medical lessons out in public disguised as a boy. It is in the Morgue and classroom that Audrey meets Thomas. Despite their clashes over their knowledge and theories, the pair strike up an unusual relationship. During this time, Jack the Ripper aka The Leather Apron or Whitechapel Murderer is stalking the streets and hunting down females. What happens when the first two victims have a connection to Audrey's family? Soon her Uncle is convicted, Audrey, knowing he is innocent sets out with Thomas to try and bait and catch the real killer. What will happen though when it turns out that Audrey does know the real killer Jack the Ripper and that he is closer to her than she could ever imagine. I loved the twists and turns and that ending had me gasping. I am now looking forward to reading Book #2 Hunting Prince Dracula which the last chapter has set us up for.
