Review: The Serial Killer's Daughter - Book #2 The Serial Killer's Family Series - Alice Hunter - July 2022 Being Spooktober, I try and read a bit more thriller novels and this book sounded good. I had read the first one and enjoyed it, they had also made a TV series based on the first book. The Serial Killer's Daughter is based on a serial killer named The Painted Lady aka Paul Slater. Paul Slater's MO was leaving butterflies known as Painted Ladies on his victims, he also had a daughter named Jane he loved and adored. When Jane was young, her father was arrested and that left Jane with her overprotective mother Claire. As soon as Jane was 18, she left home and changed her name to Jenny. Now years later - she is a successful Vet and has two wonderful children and her husband Mark. Jenny's life is about to be uprooted when a woman who Mark had an affair with disappears, and now she is getting black bags with dead animals and butterflies on her doorstep. Who knows ab...

VBT# Doc Showmance - Zoe Forward

Review: Doc Showmance - Zoe Forward- January 2023 After reading a lot of thrillers and a few children's books, I needed something light and funny to break up the reading feelings. Doc Showmance was one of those laugh-out-loud romantic comedies with a geeky side to it. You know the ones where the female or male are into their careers and blunt and don't fit into anyone's boxes. I loved the main female of this book and clicked with her straight away. Doc Showmance introduces us to Amber who is busy working her residency as an emergency vet. The vet clinic also happens to currently be part of a reality TV show which Amber isn't keen on but the money helps pay the bills as she is the main breadwinner for her house of misfits which includes three of her foster siblings - Bruno who is studying to be a lawyer, Marino - the trouble one who is a gambling addict and Joley - a sexy ex-stripper now studying to be a dental hygienist. The reality TV producer wants more drama and ro...

Oops, My Bad A.C. Pontone Publication date: July 6th 2020 Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance The rules were simple—don’t fall for the handsome vet. Oops! Some rules are meant to be broken. The light turned red and suddenly my whole life changed. I found myself lying in the middle of the street with two little yellow eyes staring at me. Then he appeared. Logan. Tall, sexy, built. I’d prayed that Superman would show up to save me, but Logan’s even better. Except that he seems more interested in saving the cat I almost ran over. Since I can’t pay the vet bills for my unwelcome new guest, I’m forced to accept a job in his veterinary clinic as a receptionist. Not a great fit for someone who’s known since childhood that all animals have it in for her. And Logan seems to be more on their side than mine. Of course, there’s nothing that says I can’t also unfurl my claws and be a sex kitten for the hot veterinarian. He’s got just one rule: don’t get emotionally involved. Simple, no?...

VBT# Two Thousand Lines - Michelle Jester

Review: Two Thousand Lines - Michelle Jester - November 2019 For those who have read Michelle Jesters's previous titles like myself, The Funeral Flower and Love,Cutter will understand that her books are quite edgy and feature topics that can trigger memories for most. Two Thousand Lines as someone asked me on Instagram what genre I would put it as- my answer was: Edgy YA fiction. The title Two Thousand Lines stems from one of the punishments that our main character Olivia had to endure from the hand of her stepfather, Mr. Melvin. He liked doing everything in two thousand and from a young age, we see him punishing Olivia and at moments throughout the book, we read as she is subjected to his abuse mentally and physically. The book has flashbacks from Olivia as young as seven-eight and goes up to the present in her adulthood. Olivia is now training to be a vets assistant and after the death of her next-door neighbor Maureen. Her grandson Luke has moved in. He has hear...
