Shy Kinda Love

Review: Shy Kinda Love - Deanna Eshler - February 2015

Nicole's life has not been all cheery and rosy since she was eleven years old, when she was eleven she first discovered what it was like to lose someone she loves when her best friend died in a car crash. The next person she lost was her mother when she was twelve years old and from there on her life led into a downward spiral as her dad got wrapped up in some bad decisions which involved human trafficking and in order for her Dad to pay off his debts to the bad guys, he started pimping out his daughter . This went on till one day when she was eighteen, she snapped and ended up killing her attacker and wounding another. This was the day that her best friend Ryder who was the older brother of her friend that died in the car crash saved her. Nicole then went into the Witness Protection Programme and changed her name to Shyanne aka Shy. For the next four years she will live a quiet life - just Ryder and her horses but on her 21st birthday, that will all change and her life will set down a new course when Ryder takes her out to celebrate. It is that night where she first meets Keegan and Gemma who later she moves in with , that night she also spots the cute guy known as "Patron" aka Kade Cross who later becomes her next door neighbour.  Shy -- since being in the Witness Protection Programme has always put walls up, but what will happen when Kade wants to be the one to knock them down ? Can Shy afford to get close to Kade not knowing what her future may hold especially when his dream is to be in the FBI and his career choices mean he has to keep on the straight and narrow ?
This was an emotional read in parts and definitely not a book for someone wanting a sweet contemporary romance as it's anything but. This is the type of book that will show readers that someone out there when things get tough remember that , there is always someone worse off than you and if they can be strong and survive - then you certainly can.
