Review: The Other Killer - Book #3 The Peasedale Woods Killer Series - Heidi Field - April 2026 There’s something quietly powerful about a story of second chances, and The Other Killer by Heidi Field delivers exactly that with a strong emotional core that lingers long after the final page. Set twenty years after the events of Book #2, we meet Mason as he is released from prison for crimes he was involved in as a teenager alongside Gunner. Having only read the previous book, I can honestly say this one still stands strong on its own. Heidi Field does a great job of grounding the reader, allowing you to slip into Mason’s world without feeling lost or overwhelmed by backstory. What unfolds is a deeply human story. Mason is trying , really trying to rebuild his life. He forms connections with Gunner’s daughter and grandson, Pip, and even takes young Kenny, the kid across the road, under his wing. Watching him attempt to carve out something meaningful for himself, including securing a stabl...

Review: Second Time's The Charm - Stephanie Rose

Review: Second Time's The Charm - Stephanie Rose - May 2024 I have had a couple of months without my e-reader as it decided to die on me and then thank god for partners,  as my partner surprised me with a brand new Kindle Paperwhite for my birthday which meant I could get back to reading on my ebook reader. YAY. Stephanie Rose's book caught my attention as I am a sucker for second-chance romances as my personal story with my partner is just that. The book starts twenty years ago when our main characters were 17/18 years old and off to college/university. They have been high school sweethearts and dating right through the four years. Everything was great until Jesse dropped a big bombshell on Emily and shattered her heart into tiny pieces. The pair never saw each other or spoke a word again till twenty years later when Emily and Sabrina decide to attend their high school 20th reunion and run into Jesse and Caden. Caden was Sabrina's friend with benefits right through high sc...

Review: Prom Queen - Laura Wolfe - October 2023 Since COVID-19, the world of Podcasts has become more popular especially when it comes to true crime and serial killers, even cold cases have been solved. Now that world is being developed into books with stories being set around true crime podcasts and a small-town unsolved cold case. Prom Queen was one of those books and unlike Carrie where the Prom Queen was covered in pig blood and set fire to the gym, this Prom Queen died on Prom night wearing the crown. For twenty years it was written down as a suicide, but for a few of those who knew Bailey - they always thought someone had murdered her. Now Twenty years later, Hannah is in town and part of her crime podcast - she is doing an expose on the cold case that is Bailey as it is coming up to the twentieth anniversary and she also received an anonymous tip that one of her friends killed her. Hannah though is about to stir up old memories, old and new vendettas as the remaining classmates ...

Review: The Reunion - Kayla Olson - January 2023 You know those moments when you want to read, but nothing seems to hit the spot and then all of a sudden you find a book that does it for you? That's how I felt with Kayla Olson's The Reunion. It also brought memories of various TV shows I have seen that have done reunion shows like 90210 Beverley Hills and Punky Brewster which I enjoyed as well as Girl Meets World. It also made me think of shows I loved when I was younger that a reunion show would be awesome like Sweet Valley High, Seventh Heaven, or Step By Step. In this book, it's been twenty years since the hit TV Show Girl on the Verge aired on television. After the show finished each of the cast went on to do their own thing also losing touch with one another. For Liv who played the female lead Honor, she lost her best friend Ransom who played the male lead Duke. The feelings though now being reunited as strong as ever as we watch the sparks and chemistry sizzle not o...
