Review: The Second Life of Ava Rivers - Faith Gardner - August 2018 Twelve years ago when Ava and Vera were six years old, they went out trick or treating on Halloween. Their older brother Elliot who was 12 at the time should have been looking after them but instead, he went off and did his own thing. That night, only one of the twins Vera returned home safely. Ava was gone forever and the case rocked their small town then as time went by and no new leads the case became national news. Now at 18, Vera is excited to be heading to Seattle to go to college and live her life the way she wants it to be. No more people looking at her with sad eyes and knowing that she is the other half of Ava or the twin nobody wanted to steal.
