Review: Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone - Benjamin Stevenson - March 2022 This book sounded interesting and on my list to read as who wouldn't want to read one with this title? The thing though the book had grabbed me with the title and started well but by the end of it, this was one of those what the hell did I just read books? You know the type of books you read and are still left thinking, about what happened and I am so freaking confused. It's like I read a whole bunch of pages, but am still lost. The book is told from the perspective of Ernie Cunningham and apparently in this town -the Cunningham family is synonymous with being "a bad bunch". Whether it be directly or indirectly as we read as Ernie goes through various family members, each one has caused someone's death and a few are actual murderers. The book starts with Ernie's brother Michael killing and going to prison for which the family blames Ernie and then jumps to Michael now being rel...

Review: Marrow - Tarryn Fisher

Review: Marrow - Tarryn Fisher - April 2016 For most people, they have only really discovered Tarryn Fisher in the later years with her books The Three Wives, The Wrong Family, and An Honest Lie, or with her collab Never Never with Colleen Hoover.  However, some of us keen readers, first discovered her when she started writing her series The Opportunist which is still one of my favourite series. Margo hates her home and calls it The Eating House as it devours your soul slowly till there is nothing less and you are left as a shell of your former self. The suburb is also one of those crackhouse-type ghetto ones where if you are lucky to get out, get out o...

Review: Blindsided - Book #1 The Forgotten Daughter Series - Marguerite Ashton - July 2020 Have you ever read a book that has left you thinking once you have finished, what the heck did I just read? As someone who is a voracious and a big reader, I read a lot of books and more often than not I do fully understand what is happening but then you get a book that something feels off, and to be honest, you don't know how to explain what you have just read or put it into words that resemble something readable. That's how I felt with Blindsided, I felt Blindsided myself as this was a quick read but even as I finished - I sat there and was like how am I going to write this review? So, I am going to try and write what I can for you. This book starts with Lexi Archer waking up in a hospital bed and she is handcuffed. It turns out that her Aunt Tammy has been murdered and Lexi is the prime suspect. The book then jumps to Lexi being diagnosed with BPD aka borderline personality disorde...
