Review: The Love Position - Book #4 Foxbrooke Academy Series - Evie Alexander - July 2024 When archaeologist Sophia Hunter-Savage steps onto her yoga mat, she’s not just looking for peace , she’s looking to piece together her shattered life. But in walks Isaac Hayward, the hottest yoga instructor in existence, and suddenly, her inner calm goes up in flames. From the moment Sophia bends into her first pose, sparks fly, but Isaac’s vow of chastity creates a tantalizing tension that will leave you turning pages faster than you can say "downward dog." Evie Alexander masterfully weaves humor, heart, and heat into this standalone romantic comedy. Sophia is a relatable heroine with real-world struggles. Whether it’s her anxiety, her career in tatters, or the pull of new love, you can’t help but root for her. Isaac, on the other hand, is the ultimate yin to her yang – disciplined, introspective, and, oh, so dreamy. Watching him wrestle between his spiritual path and unde...

Review: Mula and the Snooty Monkey - Lauren Hoffmeier

Image
Review: Mula and the Snooty Monkey - Lauren Hoffmeier - September 2021 One of my favorite things to read is the new picture books that are released, this stemmed from working for almost 15 years as a children and teens librarian where reading these books was my job and an everyday occurrence for me. I love finding new ones and who knows I might down the track and hopefully return to a library job as my dream job is to still become a manager of a school library. Mula and the Snooty Monkey by Lauren Hoffmeier is a cute story about a tiger Mula who is doing his morning routine of Yoga when he hears Svadli a cheeky monkey laughing at him and being mean. Mula breathes in and tries to get Svadli to join in with Yoga. After a while, the Snooty Monkey joins in, and guess what, he loves it and finds it peaceful and a great mindfulness tool. Mula and the Snooty Monkey is a great read and a great tool to teach young children Yoga moods and excellent skills to help them relax, breathe and reflec...

Review : Close to Me - Tamara Lush

Image
Review: Close to Me - Tamara Lush - February 2017 I have to admit when I first clicked on to read this book, I was expecting a full size novel . I didn't realise until I had finished the book that it was in fact a short story. When I say short story, this book is only 26 pages long and is definitely a quick bite read. The book is set in a Yoga Studio and Vivian has just returned to the workforce after what seems like a bout of tragedy which resulted in her developing PTSD. She is left a massage card by Zach who was a soldier and now working in the same building as a massage therapist. She calls and they start off with an innocent thai massage which leads of course to a full-on sensual sexual encounter. Close to Me was a quick erotica short story and left you with a few unanswered questions as many a short stories do. Goodreads Link - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/34392438-close-to-me

Review: Christmas Candy - Celia Aaron

Review: Christmas Candy - Celia Aaron - November 2016 First off, I have to say I love Christmas time as I am a sucker for the covers that adorn the Christmas themed books and also out of all the holidays - Christmas has always been one that has been a favorite to celebrate. When I saw that Celia Aaron had a new one coming, I knew it was only a matter of time that I read it as she is one of my automatic must-read authors. If you want a sweet Christmas read with romance, frenemies, and sex, then Christmas Candy is the read for you. The book starts with Olive who is a Yoga teacher and runs her Health studio. She is also your usual health-nut as during school; she was addicted to sugar and a bit on the chubby side. Once she left school, she vowed never to let herself give into sweet temptation. Her high school crush Hank has just moved back to town, and he has opened up a sweet candy store right opposite her health studio. This makes Olive mad, and a one-sided neighbo...
