Review: Stolen Donor - Cee Smith
Review: Stolen Donor - Cee Smith - Book #1 Stolen Series - March 2015
Have you ever read a book that started off relatively normal and then as it got further into the story it just simply got plain weird ? For me that was Stolen Donor. The book starts off with Hailey, her twin sister Jessa and their foster brother/best friend Adam in Queensland scuba diving the wrecks and then all of a sudden we read as Hailey is kidnapped. The novel then jumps to Hailey sitting in a room that has been designed to suit her etc, this reminded me of that scene from the finale of Pretty Little Liars. Hailey is being held captive and the story then jumps into the captor's POV - Dominic . It seems that he has been stalking Hailey and we wonder what his obsession is with her, I did find it a bit odd though that his housekeeper and guardian Clemmie seemed ok with everything that was happening. Turns out though that Dominic is dying and needs a transplant and the best match off the record is Hailey - she is to be his organ donor. Things though change drastically and plans fly out the window when it is discovered she is pregnant. That's again when this book took a weird turn as Hailey is reunited with her parents, she has her baby and Dominic - remember he is the captor -is seen as a loving boyfriend and father to their child. This part of the story was odd and its like she developed Stockholm syndrome all of a sudden - where she started to have romantic feelings towards Dominic.
Stolen Donor is the type of book that will set you on a bumpy ride with twists and turns and in parts, the book does go into graphic scenes/rape.
