VBT: The Music of Temptation - Verity Jacobs

The Music of Temptation

Review: The Music of Temptation - Verity Jacobs - March 2015

One of my favourite things to read about is a sub genre I like to call Geek Chic Lit , which is contemporary romance novels set within an Academic setting or the main characters are in a geeky job. In The Music of Temptation by Verity Jacobs, we meet Margot Duke who is living in Germany at the moment while she works on her PHD in Biology doing research on a daily basis in cells and stem research. For Margot, she has finally reached the point in her life where she believes she can no longer continue a long-distance romance with her boyfriend Eric who is in Spain. She breaks up with him on a Skype Interview , though nowadays I guess Facetime would be used instead of Skype. Wanting a night out and discovering that her favourite band is playing in town, she goes along to the concert - this band is her jam music when she is working in the lab. At the concert, she insults a guy whom she imagines is the roadie or a groupie but little does she realise that he is the lead singer of her favourite band. Jonathan is on tour with his band and can't help but be mesmerised by Margot , as he gets to know her and he actually has the intellect to keep up with her scientific conversations - the pair hook up and so begins a friendship which later turns into relationship mode - which of course makes readers agree that Margot has defied her own theory of never having a long distance romance ever again. However, can a LDR work out with a celebrity as Margot is thrown into the world of paparazzi, models and band groupies ?
Find out in this Geek Chic Lit book by Verity Jacobs "The Music of Temptation".
