VBT# Flukes - Nichole Chase

Review: Flukes - Book #1 Flukes - Nichole Chase - October 2012
It's interesting that sometimes book tours can make you read a book that you have had sitting on your Kindle for years and you keep meaning to read it, but just haven't yet had the opportunity and then you are suddenly presented with the opportunity to read and you sit there wondering - why on earth did I not read this yet ?
For me , Flukes by Nichole Chase was one of those books - I have had it sitting on my Kinde since it's original release. I have always been a fan of mermaid/human stories ever since I was five years old and fell in love with Ariel the Little Mermaid. Flukes reminded me of a mixture between Forgive my Fins series by Tera Lynn Childs and the hit Australian TV Show "H2O : Just Add Water". In Flukes, we meet Meena who as a baby was scooped out of the ocean by her adopted parents as they could not have children of their own and thought that this was a miracle and amazing opportunity that they had been given. Now years later, Meena helps out her parents at their sealife sanctuary called "Flukes" and is home-schooled as she needs to be near the salt water in order to survive. Her parents being good folks, take on each summer those students that are needing to do Community Service Hours and two of them include Blake and Devin. Blake is the proverbial Bad Boy - the one who deep down is actually a nice guy and Devin - is truly a bad guy who knows Meena's secret and wants her dead. As the story flows we see Blake and Meena spending more time together and soon they start to get matching tattoos and Meena spots some possible Mermaids around , what is happening to them and why now ?
If you are a fan of Mermaid Tales , then check out Flukes by Nichole Chase today.
