Review: Girl Online - Zoe Suggs
Review: Girl Online - Book #1 Girl Online Series - Zoe Sugg - November 2014
From the popular Blogger and Vlogger Zoella , we present to you Girl Online which features a main character called Penny . She decided with the help of her friend Elliott to create a blog called GirlOnline. This blog would be her safe space to ramble off anything that was sitting on her chest anonymously from mean girls like Megan to cute guys and potential dates like Ollie to hanging out with Elliott aka Wiki as he is a walking Wikipedia - yes because we are in the 21st century and technology has come so far - we use Wikipedia instead of the word Encyclopaedias. Girl Online travels through her countless blog posts and comments from her secret panic attacks to outgrowing friends to the hottest guy asking her out , only to wonder really whether it was an actual date or not. When her parents who own their own Unique Wedding Planning company are offered the opportunity to fly to New York over Christmas and plan a Downton Abbey themed wedding at the Waldorf Astoria no less , Penny and her family along with her sidekick Elliott fly to the States. It is here at the Wedding where she meets Noah - he is Sadie (the Caterer's) grandson. Over the time spent together , Noah and Penny hit it off and soon she believes that she is falling head over heels in love with Noah . What will happen though when Noah who is hiding a big secret , has his spilled in the tabloids and Penny looks like the main suspect. Though of course she has an alter-ego to hide too , but it won't be kept secret for too long and sooner than later her blog becomes a ground for nastyness and cyber-bullying as facebook, twitter and tabloids start blowing up her friendship with Noah. Can Penny though prove to Noah , that it wasn't her who started this ball rolling and that deep down she still loves him ?
Girl Online is the perfect fun read that explores both sides of the Internet and the Blogging world - both the positive and the negatives and as a Blogger and high user of Social networking sites, I really enjoyed reading GirlOnline and could relate to part of the book.
I am now looking forward to reading Book #2 when released for more adventures of Penny, Elliott and Noah.
