Review: Horror Hotel - Victoria Fulton and Faith McClaren

Review: Horror Hotel - Victoria Fulton and Faith McClaren - February 2022

This one captured my attention with the creepy cover as I love YA thrillers and horror stories. Horror Hotel introduces us first to a story that happened 10 years ago when a girl named Eileen was found dead in the elevator at Hearst Hotel. It is said that this is the most haunted hotel in the States and so Chrissy and her friends are headed to film. Chrissy, Chase, Kiki, and Emma are known as The Ghost Gang and have a Youtube Channel where they do all their ghost hunts. The thing is that at least one of them can see and talk to ghosts - Chrissy and so this brings authenticity to their channel. Eileen's murder or suicide is still unsolved and Chase thinks that if they can solve it or get some good footage at Hearst Hotel their viewings and subscribers might hit that coveted one million. This hotel has its fair share of dead bodies, old and some more recent as someone is currently killing in the hotel and if the Ghost Gang isn't careful they may very well become the next victims and left to forever haunt Hearst Hotel. This book was a tad slower-paced than I normally enjoy but as I am a fan of shows like The Ghost Whisperer, I did enjoy this. I also found that this book even though it claims to have a Blair Witch Project feel, for me, it was more in the wheelhouse of the movie series Paranormal Activity and Supernatural. If you love ghosts and hauntings, then check out this YA supernatural thriller where if you stay at Horror Hotel - be prepared to either die or be scared.
