Review: Next Door - Blake Pierce ( Chloe Fine Series)

Review: Next Door - Book #1 Chloe Fine Series - Blake Pierce - October 2018

When Chloe and her twin sister Danielle were 10/11 years old, their lives changed forever as their mother was now dead and their father was arrested for murder. The girls then went to live with their grandmother. Now years later, the girls who are as different as chalk and cheese are living back in the same small town Pinecrest. The murder set Chloe on track to become an FBI agent whereas her sister Danielle ended up living on pills and going from guy to guy and job to job. The thing for Chloe is moving back home will change her life as her fiancee and his family aren't keen on her sister and Chloe's not going to stand for that as for all the bad that Danielle does, ultimately she is Chloe's twin sister and only family left - if she had to choose, it will be her sister forever and always. What happens though when Danielle is accused of murder when her latest fling turns up dead and someone is determined to frame her for the death? Someone is also stalking Danielle and leaving little threatening notes. Can Chloe help her sister and find out what is happening? It also looks like this murder is connected to the one of their mother. Did Danielle push her down the stairs or did she see who killed her and who is their dad protecting? This was a bit on the longer side, but was so fast-paced and caught my attention quickly. I am now looking forward to finally getting around to reading all the other Blake Pierce books I have on my Kindle as this author is quite prolific for their thrillers. I felt this book could have been a 5, but it was downgraded to a 4 as I found the connection and motives lacking between the death of their mother and the current murder of the boyfriend.
