Review: The Infatuation Calculation - Susannah Nix

Review: The Infatuation Calculation - Book #6 Chemistry Lessons - Susannah Nix - May 2021
One of my favorite things to read is STEM romance or what I prefer to call it is Geek Chic Lit, where the main characters are a little quirky and have an academic background. Mia studied pure mathematics at University and now has finished her degree, of course, though jobs are scarce and you have like 300+ people going for one position. A bit like the job market these days as I went for an interview recently and they had 300 people apply and interviewed their top 6 candidates I have heard from people who have been looking everywhere for jobs and finding it difficult. Mia decides to look outside of the city and comes across a teaching one-year contract for Maths at Bowman University in Crowder, Texas. She applies and gets the job and moves down from LA to the small town. It is not where she wants to be and is grateful it's only for a year. That is until she meets her landlord Birdie and her nephew Dairy Goat Farmer Jake. He is quiet and a bit of a recluse after he was humiliated in a revenge porn attack like Waldo. As the book goes along, we see sparks fly between Mia and Jake and she soon realizes she loves him and not just for his amazing cheese-making skills, but that does help. When her year is up, will Mia choose to move on with other job offers she has gotten her way since being published in a respective Maths journal or will she take the job offered to her at Bowman University and choose love over her career aspirations and have the best of both worlds here in smalltown Crowder? Find out in Book #6 of Susannah Nix's Chemistry Lessons series. I also liked how this one introduces Andie and Wyatt who feature in Susannah's other series The King Family in the book "My Cone and Only". I now only have one more book in this series #4 to read and then the Chemistry Lessons have come to an end.
