Hate to Love You

Review: Hate To Love You - Tijan - August 2017
I was excited to read this book as Tijan wrote it and as I started reading it, I remembered why I loved reading her books. They are so addicting, and once you get started, you want to read it all in one sitting as you find yourself drawn into the story. They are so easy to read, it's like candy. Kennedy who by the way was a kick-azz character, I loved her as she wasn't afraid to tell people what she thought about them. I did later learn this was her coping mechanism, but she was strong-willed.  Kennedy is studying law and ends up being in the same class as two of the school's football stars Shay Coleman and Linde. Now that Kennedy is in college and been burned by a football jerk before - Parker she is staying away from the jocks. However, Shay is not someone who is used to girls saying no to him, and there is a spunk about Kennedy that he likes. Thus begins a romantic chase for Shay as he tries to get Kennedy to like him. I have to admit; I liked the side character Linde as he was a good friend and a solid guy, you could tell he was a genuinely nice person. This book gets a bit edgy in the middle as one of Kennedy's acquaintances Casey is raped. Kennedy is one of the few to know the truth about what happened, and this starts to bond Casey and Kennedy together, not to mention Kennedy's older brother Gage is in love with Casey. After a confrontation with the supposed rapist and a video goes viral of Kennedy which gives her the nickname DickCrusher she is then attacked herself and then she learns that the guy she loves has a stalker. Can Kennedy be with a guy who has lots of drama surrounding him or will she let him know she can't date someone like that? I didn't see the twist with the ending chapters coming, but I was like jeez throw some more drama into the fire, why don't now Tijan. Hate To Love You by Tijan is an awesome book that will have you wanting to go to college all over again and is filled with drama that will have you sitting on the edge of your seats.
