Review: The Winter Killer - Book #3 DI James Walker Series - Alex Pine - October 2022 Was hoping for a good read finally on the Libby App as the last four had been DNFs for me, as they were just thrillers that were too slow and could not get into. Though book #3 in the series, The Winter Killer can be read as a standalone novel. The book starts with a hint that so far it looks like this small town has escaped the Christmas curse of the past couple of years of bad murders happening. However, we get to New Year's Eve and a murder strikes as the bride's sister turns up dead. The thing though is that this wedding party is quite tight-lipped and no one seems to be in the know about how the maid of honour ended up dead and everyone is a suspect. We learn that Libby's sister Rachael was a bit of a stirrer and has a love/hate relationship with Libby. Could this be what killed her or was someone else wanting her dead? From the Italian secret boyfriend to her ex a disgraced wannabe...

Apex Predator Cara Dee (The Game, #11) Publication date: January 24th 2023 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, LGBTQ+, Romance Ring in the new year with Lane, Macklin, Walker, and Ty as a group of Mclean members head down to Florida for some fun. More info to come. Add to Goodreads / Pre-order Author Bio: I’m often awkwardly silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there’s so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex. There’s a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly. Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance...

Review: Holly Holiday and the Christmas Forest - Katie Anderson - October 2022 With Christmas coming to an end and I was needing a quick read as I was in a bit of an indecisive mood, I grabbed one of the Netgalley Christmas picture book reads - Holly Holiday and the Christmas Forest by Katie Anderson. This cute picture book introduces us to Holly Holiday whose favorite holiday in the world is ---- you guessed it "Christmas". She loves everything about Christmas from wrapping up presents, to carols and decorating the Christmas tree. One morning after Christmas, Holly wakes up to discover her parents getting rid of their tree. She is horrified and upset to learn that it is dead. This gets her thinking about what she could do differently so they aren't always getting rid of dead trees at Christmas time. Eventually, Holly and her family land on the idea of buying a small Christmas tree plant and decorating that, and each year after Christmas is over the family travel out to t...

Review: Seeking Her - Book #3.5 Losing It/ Finding It Series - Cora Carmack - January 2014 This particular book was one that I was scrolling through on my kindle wanting something to read and figured It was about high time I cleared it off the kindle and read it. I knew without a doubt I would enjoy it as this series is what is considered early New Adult Romance and before the eBook world become saturated with self-published novels. This was good writing and books that anyone especially if you were aged between 18-35 could enjoy. It was realistic, romantic, and gritty at the same time. This particular series I have read all of the book’s years ago, but somehow never got around to this one until now. In Seeking Her, it is the prequel before Book #4 which is Finding It which featured a lengthier story between Jackson Hunt and Kelsey Summers. In Seeking Her, Jackson is on his last chance after being kicked out of the military and thanks to his dad's connections been given a job as a...
