Review: The Husband List - Janet Evanovich and Dorien Kelly - January 2013
As a fan of Janet Evanovich's work , I have made it my mission to read everything that she has released and since the fact that all her novels that I have read to date have been set in the contemporary world, I had expected her book co-written with Dorien Kelly to be the same. However I was in for a surprise when I started reading it and learnt that it was in fact - a historical romance set in the 1890's and was a society rules type novel. In The Husband List we meet Catherine whose mother is content with trying to marry her off to someone with a title whether it be a Lord or Duke. Catherine, however wishes not to marry someone for money or a title but for love. She wishes to be with someone that will treat her as their equal , converse with her and someone to have fun with and whom she can be herself around. That person happens to be Jack - her brother Eddie's best friend and the thorn in her mother's side. To her, Jack is not good enough for Catherine.  Can Catherine prove to her mother in time that Jack is her other half ? Or will Harriet - another Debutante and husband hunter get her way and dig her claws into Jack ?

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
