Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why

Review: Ms Marvel - Volume #2 - Generation Why - April 2015

Kamala Khan is back and continually getting the hang of being the new Ms. Marvel and trying to save the world from danger. The Danger in Generation Why is a cockatiel that has been cloned with the DNA of Thomas Edison. Kamala travels down to the sewers after strange things start occuring and runs into none other than Wolverine, though of course this Wolverine aka Logan is getting old and his body isn't like it used to be. This was one of the things that I loved about Ms. Marvel, was that it contained humour within the story and brought back to give us old comic book lovers memories of characters from previous comics like Wolverine , Cyclops , Jean Grey - who is now in charge of the School for Gifted which was originally Professor X's school , Captain America aka Steve and Lockjaw - our lovable superhero dog.  This graphic novel took an interesting turn and actually made you think about today's Generation as Kamala Khan learns that the students actually volunteered to be used as test subjects due to the fact that - with today's population, what are we really doing with today's generation and achieving since we all seem to be plugged into technology whether it be computers, tv, phone etc. One of the storylines in Ms. Marvel - Generation Why, had Kamala discovering how her powers came about and how she was in fact part of an ancient alien race . I am interested to see whether they develop this storyline in future comics and also discuss why she is living with her Aunt/Uncle and not her real parents.
If you are in the mood for a comic book with a new Muslim based Superhero Character - that in a way is just like you and me without the superhero abilites. Then check out Volume #2 Ms Marvel - Generation Why.
