A Nordic King

Review: A Nordic King - Karina Halle - September 2018
As soon as she had the chance, Aurora left home, changed her name and became a Nanny. She was great at her job and handling the problematic husbands, that when a new job came up, the agency put her name forward. She thought she would be nannying for an aristocratic family like usual, but instead, she is nannying for the King of Denmark. King Askel's wife died a few years ago in a car accident and left his two daughters without a mum. Now the girls haven't seemed to click with any of the previous nannies but with Aurora - they love her to pieces, and she loves them. Aurora even seems to bring out a passionate side of King Askel, something that has been hidden inside even before the accident. What will happen though when Askel and Aurora start to develop strong feelings for one another and the idea of finally being family thrills the little girls? Someone in the palace, doesn't want King Askel to be happy and digs up Aurora's past as of course scandals, criminals and royalty don't mix well together? Can Aurora prove to Askel that she loves him for him and that his royal title doesn't matter to her? I did like the ending when they went back to Australia; I had however hoped that we could have run into someone from her past or her mother, that would have been more satisfying as to say "Look at what I have become." Fans of Royal stories and Cinderella tales will love A Nordic King by Karina Halle.
